I’m having a go at something new here .
Mamablogga is running a group writing project on the theme ‘Three things I want my kids to….’
I found this through Believer in Balance who I followed from the lovely Absolutely Bananas and I thought I’d have a go.
So here is mine…
‘3 things I want my kids to [...]

A Moment of Happiness

Miss M has a new pushchair.
Ok, I know, not very interesting in itself, but when you’re 2 anything new is extremely significant in your small world.
M’s new pushchair is pink.
This means that she thinks it is beautiful.
She told me so,
M:  “My puss-chair is bootiful mummy. ”
Me:  “Is it babe?  That’s nice.”
M:  “It bootiful, like M’s hair.  M’s hair [...]

Oh my Lord!
My mum and I have just seen a frankfurter running down the street.
We were minding our own business walking along with Miss E and Miss M, when a vision in white jogged past us.
I thought,  ‘Blimey, this lady is a serious fitness fanatic.’
She has the kind of figure that most of us would [...]

Don’t want to

I have just bought Miss M a new T-shirt.
It says,  ‘I’m the Queen of Tantrums.’
People look at her in it and think, ‘ahhh, isn’t she cute?’
I think, ‘Read the top, read the top’.
It’s not cute.
It’s a warning.
I am being a responsible citizen.
It means,
‘Evacuate all Areas.’
‘Run for God’s sake run and do not look back.’
‘Go, save yourself.’
You see, [...]

I love my love with an A

Does anyone remember doing this…
‘I love my love with an ‘A’ because he is attractive.
I hate my love with an ‘A’ because he is an arse.
His name is Artemis,
And he lives in Andalucia,
Where he keeps pet Antelopes,
Which he feeds on Aniseed Balls.
I love my love with a ‘B’ because he is brave…etc. etc.’
We used to [...]

Two posts in one day.
Get her!
Ok, I’m trying to get the creative juices flowing here.
 So I’ve had an idea.
I write daft poems.
Napoleon Fantastic and I are working on a book together as he writes daft poems too.
So I’m up for a challenge a la Bobby Darin…

‘”Splish Splash” was written with DJ Murray the K who [...]

Singing in the rain

Alright, I lied.
I recently left a comment on Susan as Herself’s ‘Drink up and Dance Post’ saying we don’t really get extreme weather in the UK, especially in Nottinghamshire where La Famille Beaufoix hail from.
Well today we have torrential rain, and yesterday we had torrential rain, infact we’ve had torrential rain for well over a week now.
“The [...]

Kitchen Nightmare

I am so uninspired by food at the moment.
I have never been a good cook, unlike Mr B who can slam some wheel nuts, a runner bean and some tabasco in a pan and end up with a feast that Gordon Ramsay wouldn’t turn his nose up at.
I can make basic stuff like bolognese and chilli, but when [...]

Rainy kids

Rainy days and sick children do not go.
Alone they can be disheartening and annoying,
but put them together and it can be down right depressing.
Yesterday – Friday – I had to keep E off school as she had a bad throat and a tummy ache.  We all have colds, but ever since E had a really [...]

Ban Cuteness

I have decided cuteness should not be allowed in small children.
It creates so many tangents and makes everything take twice as long because you either have to laugh, hide a laugh, or just give them a great big hug.
Miss M (2) and Miss E (6) are well practised in the art of cuteness.
I don’t know where they [...]
