Happy Thanksgiving to all you folks across the pond…

Babs dressed up especially for you all. She got quite sulky when I said she made a good bloke, but hey, you have to admit, it’s true.
Hope you have lots of yummy things like turkey and pumpkin pie, and get the chance to be with the people who mean the most to you.
As I know very little about Thanksgiving, and I’m sure there’ll be plenty to read on the subject from those of you who are celebrating it, I decided to share this with you instead…
Look.
I am food stuffs.
And not any old foodstuffs either, but traditional, Thanksgiving, apparently very yummy food stuffs.
| You Are Pumpkin Pie |
You’re able to relate to many types of people with many different tastes. But you’re by no means generic or ordinary. In fact, you’re one of the most original people around. Those who like you are looking for something (someone!) special. You tend to confuse people when they first meet you. You’re not as complicated as you seem. Even though you have a lot of spice and flavor to you, you’re never overpowering. You are a calm and comforting force in people’s lives. |
Ahhhh, thanks. I love it when food gives me compliments.
So come on, what pie are you?
(Mmmm pie.)
Oh, and todays post is brought to you by:
Which is apparently my Pilgrim Name??

Akela, I never had pumpkin pie either, but that looks quite nice doesn’t it? I had pumpkin risotto once and that was ok, but never pumpkin pie.
Humility my dear, how kind of you to visit the Howland household.
Kim, no, you make me giggle so much.
Laurie, i hope they leave you some pie. If they don’t, I’d set one of those lovely hounds on them. And I don’t know how they figure the names out either?? There seems to be no relation to the name you put in, and the name that comes out. Very strange. And yay, you are pumpkin pie. Hee hee. And thanks for upping my comment quota.

Apparently, I am Mercy Warren, and I am lemon meringue. I like the lemon, but the meringue, not so much. I like lemon sour cream pie, though. Thanks for your good wishes on Thanksgiving. Here’s the short Thanksgiving story: The pilgrims sailed from England on a ship called the Mayflower and arrived at Plymouth Rock in the fall of 1620. They were originally headed for Jamestown colony, but got badly off course due to storms they encountered at sea. Many of them died that winter, but those who survived settled the area that became known as Plimoth Plantation, and learned from the Wampanoag Indians how to survive in their new land. At the end of their first year, and harvest, in the new land, the pilgrims had a big feast with the indians to celebrate their survival. So that is the short story. Plimoth Plantation is a living history museum, and one of my favorites! Here is a link to their web site: http://www.plimoth.org/. A special thanks to Babs for dressing the part this year.

I am apple pie.
You’re the perfect combo of comforting and traditional.
You prefer things the way you’ve always known them.
You’ll admit that you’re old fashioned, and you don’t see anything wrong with that.
Your tastes and preferences are classic. And classic never goes out of style.
Those who like you crave security.
People can rely on you to be true to yourself – and true to them.
You’re loyal, trustworthy, and comfortable in your own skin.
And because of these qualities, you’ve definitely earned a lot of respect.
oh and I spent the day catching toddler puke….good thing I am trustworthy. Wink wink….but because of this…I had NO pie today…..oh sigh…poor me.

Patience Soule is my Pilgrim name, which made me roar, because as patient as I am with the cats, this morning’s hairball ensemble in 3-part harmony left me cursing like a sailor.
And I am plain apple pie. Warm. With A Lot of Vanilla Ice Cream. Please.

I think I’m cow pie. Happy Thanksgiving – they don’t celebrate that in Notts, do they? They didn’t last time I was there. Hope Bert’s behaving himself and growing nicely – ooh er, missus!

Thanks for the warm wishes!
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Esther Billington (Avery Gray’s Pilgramish alter ego), and I’m a pumpkin pie, too! It seems we would get along famously (if Avery ever let me out of the dark recesses of her mind), but since that only happens once a year, it’s fare thee well ’til this time next year.
It’s like I hardly knew ya.
November 23rd, 2007 at 12:05 pm
I am a pumpkin pie too, yay!
November 23rd, 2007 at 1:32 pm
Holly, my sweet, I meant anyone celebrating Thanksgiving. Can you get pumpkin pie here? Or do you have to make it yourself?? I may not try it for a loooong time if that is the case.
Mrs Weasley thanks, I will check out that link. and Babs loves a bit of dress up you know.
Dan, welcome, I am all in awe as your blog is a bit fabulous. I wonder if anyone has ever died of too much pie? That could be messy. Yuck.
Oh Corey, poor you and poor sugar. I hope Daddy helped with the puke catching. Hope you have a puke free day tomorrow.
Pixel, or shoud I say, Patience dear, there is nothing plain about apple pie. It is warm and sweet and satisfying. Hairball pie would be bad, but apple pie, yum.
Mya, hee hee. No we don’t ceebrate here. I’ve spent my day wth sick hubby and Miss E, and very ivey Miss M. Ooo fun.
Bert is growing bigger by the minute. How rude.
Until next time Esther Billington. Enjoy your pumpkin pie. Or enjoy being pumpkin pie, or something.
Despina, Pumpkin Pie’s must be cool. Yay us.
