Today’s Fun Monday comes from fabulous Blogger Blue Momma who I’ve been a fan of for a while as she makes me larf.
This is the challenge…
I was thinking of hosting a show us your boobs Fun Monday, however several people specifically requested that I not. So as much as I truly wanted to see yours Willowtree, I’m gonna go with my second choice.
I want you to show me your……projects. More to the point, I want to see your unfinished projects. I have so many that I really need some reassurance that I’m not the only one. Home improvement projects are what I have in mind, but it you don’t have any of those show me any kind of project – needlework, cooking, scrapbooking, etc. You can even show me your spouse if they qualify as a work in process.
And please, I WANT PICTURES!!!! You can talk if you want, but you don’t have to. I know since you are all bloggers talk is bound to happen, but I most definitely want to see photos of those unfinished projects.
Ok.
Well.
These are my offerings. It makes my house look soooo shabby, but hey, I have two small kids and I blog and write, and who really has time for all this stuff anyway, right? Right?
And anyway, if it wasn’t for NaNoWriMo I would have already;
Boxed in the combi-boiler…
Stuck down this bit of border in the sitting room.
(We should actually re-decorate as we’ve not touched it since we moved in 4 and a half years ago, but is there any point when you have a toddler?)
Found a better way to store these toys in the sitting room. Oh and erm, ironed that curtain.
Re-done all the gloss paint work in the entire house.
(I’m sure I’ll get away with covering this in Christmas cards again though.)
Taken up and burnt the nasty old cork tiles in the toilet.
Sorted out the mould problem in our grim bathroom.
I know, I know. It’s bad isn’t it?
And probably a health hazard.
And probably a sign of a more serious problem.
But we have bought the anti-mould paint, and we have installed a new ‘expelair’ unit,
so, we’re nearly there…
.. fixed got Mr B to fix the curtain rail that has come away from it’s holdings and means we can’t actually open the curtains in our bedroom at the moment. I’d do it myself but it’s too heavy. I’ve tried.
Tidied up the sheep on the mural on Miss E’s room that has fallen victim to some small wet fingers of the E and M variety. It doesn’t look too bad from far away, but close up…
…badly smudged sheep.
So there you go…
My house is a mess.
I have no idea how I should have sealed that paint so my kids couldn’t smudge it.
My whole place needs decorating.
I have mould.
And you already saw my washing and ironing pile the other day.
So, what more can I say.
Except maybe,
HELP.
Hmmm. I think I need a glass of wine.
Oh and, I’m on Top Momma, go click me and give me some lurrrrrrve. You know you want to…
Oh please, please, please, go on. (See I’m begging now.) And you know, if you really love me, or you’re at a loose end, you can click me more than once, in fact every six hours apparently! You’ve got time for that right? Right?

What a beautiful home! (Can’t you tell I live with 4 kids and can see past things?)
November 26th, 2007 at 7:01 am
i feel your pain. my only problem is that when nanoxxxxxxxxxxx is over, i won’t have nearly as much to blame my complete shipwreck of a house *on*. the argument could be made that i should *do* something about it.
well, huh, *that’s* not going to happen. . .
November 26th, 2007 at 7:10 am
i clicked ya, babe.
and i love the woodwork around your staircase. wow.
November 26th, 2007 at 7:26 am
Holly, I’m the same. I’m not a house proud person. I’d like to be, but I’m rubbish at it. I’m so easily distracted by other things…like spongebob.
Laurie, ahh thanks. I was so scared I might be a zero clicks person. You made my day.
November 26th, 2007 at 7:35 am
Hi Karen, welcome. And thank you so much. it is beautiful, under all the stuff. Honestly.
November 26th, 2007 at 7:41 am
I believe that you are the first post I visited today that mentioned smudgy sheep! Beautiful home and a lovely post!
November 26th, 2007 at 8:02 am
At least your daughter’s walls are decorated. I’ve yet to hang one item in Punkin’s room. Waiting on the molding, of course.
I’m glad you started doing Fun Monday with us! You rock, girl!
November 26th, 2007 at 8:08 am
I am going to click you silly
November 26th, 2007 at 8:10 am
I’m off to click you, too. And I’m making a mental note to go back in six hours. I guess we’ll see how good the old memory is.
Your house looks like you have small children living there who consume all your time. Seriously. I was really worried about this FM topic because I knew it was going to kick me in the butt to think of all of this stuff, but in a strange way it’s nice to see that we’re all in the same boat. At least in the ones I’ve read so far.
Speaking of reading, I’m sooooo far behind and I’m not even doing NaNo whatever it is. Bad RC, bad. But…I’m all caught up on your posts and can honestly say that
a) we have identical laundry piles
b) I have mold at the top of my stairs
c) I’m so happy you’re doing FM! Yay!!

Love that woodwork. Run your air vent thingie for about an hour after bath/shower time. And you are so right, why bother until the kids are grown. They’ll just destroy everything you own anyway.
A little ModPodge over your darling mural will help. It waterproofs it. They also have lacquers for that.

Looks like a home to me Jo.
November 26th, 2007 at 9:38 am
Oh man!!! I could definitely go along with this entry! I am constantly burying myself with projects!!
As a matter of fact, one of my recent entries was about redoing my living room.
November 26th, 2007 at 10:09 am
So your house looks LIVED in…which makes me feel right at home! It’s easy to feel defeated when we start looking at everything that needs to be done…but durn, if it wasn’t a kick in my behind!
Don’t know what Top Momma is, but I’ll go click ya
.
November 26th, 2007 at 10:12 am
Your house looks much better than mine and I’m single with no kids!
November 26th, 2007 at 10:59 am
Hmm…taking Holly’s comment into consideration, I think I’ll write a book next month as well…
November 26th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
I agree with you totally! Why try to do any renovation or cleaning when there is a toddler lurking around? Pointless!!
November 26th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
Hi Jo,
Take the glass of wine option. And implore Mr B to do the chores while you quaff vintage red as you blog!!
November 26th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
Bad news…once NaBlo…is over you have the holidays to deal wih. You’ll just have to put all this off until next year…unless, of course, something else come up!
November 26th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
Oh, that is the cutest mural…smudged sheep and all!
November 26th, 2007 at 3:10 pm
Smudged sheep! I’m going to be saying that all day, and giggling!
Mold = bad. But yours does NOT look out of control.
Lead-based paint in toys = bad. But not if your kids don’t gnaw on them.
You have a pretty home!
November 26th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
remodeling with toddlers? no no.
smudged sheep? adorable.
November 26th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
and… i clicked for ya, baby…
November 26th, 2007 at 4:09 pm
That mural is gorgeous! And I kindof like the glossy paint, it’s easier to clean, right?
November 26th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
Thanks you so much everyone for the comments and the clicks. I’ll be visiting you all soon, but I hit 46000 words with Bert tonight so I’ve 4000 more to go and I’m on a roll.
I’ll be back when I have my winners certificate, to reply to all of these individually and to enjoy all your posts.
November 26th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
You are a top momma, and I’m going to click you now!
November 26th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
Oh, I remember those days. Hand prints on everything and toys all over the place and peanut butter in the jelly jar. And not enough money to fix all the things that needed fixing and the man to hire to come and fix them. Hooray, it is all past me now. I breathe a sigh of relief.
You hang in there, it will all be over in no time. Cheerio!
November 26th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
Love the idea of sticking the Christmas cards on the gloss paint LOL And your mold problem? Looks an awful lot like the mold that’s starting to grow in our master bedroom bathroom. Ick!
November 26th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
this was a fun post. You made me laugh and groan at the same time. reminds me of the spot on our living room ceiling …..
November 27th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Hi Jo! i am so terribly behind in my reading…..sigh…..
Fun to see your projects….as I have a few myself.
December 1st, 2007 at 2:55 am
Looks just like my place, serisously the border in my living room drives me nuts
December 4th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
Sorry I’m late even answering these everybody. It’s been a crazy week and I’m on catch up.
Sandy, thanks, and glad you like the smudgy sheep.
Blue Momma, I bet Punkin’s room will be fab when it’s done. And I’m loving Fun Monday.
Cami, thank you sweetie.
RC, yay, matching mould and laundry hee hee. Fun Monday is great. It’s such a warm and talented bunch of people isn’t it?
Robinella, what is modpodge hee hee.
Akela, it is a home. I love it. I couldn’t be tidy all the time. It would be wrong. Well wrong for me anyway.
Wendy, I bet your living room looks fab.
Robin thanks. And I must get on to that poem.
Sauntering Soul, you are too kind, hee hee.
Kim, are you mad? x
Anglophile Football Fanatic, yay. We parents need to stick together.
David, mmmmn, vintage red. Slurp.
Susan, see, none of it is my fault. Lfe is just too busy.
Bren, thank you so much. I had fun painting it, and it made Miss E feel all special when we were getting ready for her little sister to come along.
Tiggerlane. Thanks. We will sort the mould soon though. And I’m glad my smudged sheep made you giggle.
Janet, thank you sooo much .
Lori, I love the gloss. Easy to clean etc. But it all needs doing now and it smells so strong. I think we’ll leave it till after Christmas. Or maybe the summer…
Avery, I am a top momma. Even if I only lasted days, tee hee.
Irene, it seems like we can aford all that stuff when we don’t really need it so much, as the kids aren’t messing the house up anymore. Oh well. I still don’t want it to go too fast though.
Joy T, we should start a group. The mouldys or something.
And the Christmas cards always look so cheerful on the gloss.
Pamela, glad you enjoyed it. I think we’re all in the same boat, But hey, it means we have lives right?
Corey. I love your projects. Especially the ones involving apples.
Laura, borders are sooo annoying aren’t they? One day, I will have ust paint on my walls. Of course they’ll all need replastering first, but, one day…
