I’ve eaten Bubble & Squeak with all its olfactory side effects, but you would have to put Mr. Pi on the rack and force feed it to him. Mr. Pi left the room once when I was watching Jamie Oliver make Bubble & Squeak. It was just one squeak too many!

Cami, we have it every Boxing Day. It is good. Gaseous, but good.
Holl, do you like the taste? Or do you dislike it as much as we all dislike the smell that follows??
Laurie, I love them too. But they do baaaad things to me.
Alsion, that is so the write word. Fermenting and biodegrading and emitting, erm, noxious fumes.
PixelPi, Mr B isn’t too fond either. I think maybe it’s like marmite and marzipan. You love it, or hate it.

It’s been awhile since I had bubble and squeak – I ate a lot of it in my youth when I lived in Leeds (I still support the football team even though they’re in League One now – the shame!)
We also had Brussels sprouts this Christmas with our partridge (no turkey as Frog Queen ain’t keen on it, more’s the pity).

I adore brussels sprouts!! I know many folks do not, or at least do not like the after effects, but they have never bothered me… and I love them cooked with garlic and olive oil and a splash of wine. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Dumdad, mmmm bubble and squeak. I’m off to my mum’s tonight to finish some off with my sister who has come up from Brighton. Yum.
Oooo Susan I never did brussels like that. I will have to try them now.

Speaking of marmite, do you know that the same taste receptors on your tongue pick up the brussel sprouts and the marmite? I read that somewhere when I was doing the marmite post.
It’s funny though, because I adore brussel sprouts. The marmite? Hmmm…
