I just want to say thank you for all your support this week, especially your virtual hugs and stuff for today.
My actual op’ isn’t till Saturday 2nd Feb, so today was a few tests and a chat, but I was dead nervous because I am such a wuss.
It was fine.
We even managed not to laugh at the man with the bow tie, and all the people in tweed. That’s what comes of having an NHS op’ in a private hospital. You kind of feel under dressed. When the receptionist called us over, she was so posh I wasn’t sure if I should bow. Hee hee.
Now I need to clean the house and make up party bags etc, as Mr B is exhausted by the trip to Derby this morning and is flat out on the settee again. Miss M is 3 tomorrow.
Yes, 3.
I can’t believe it!
So we have birthday stuff happening which is fab, but means another mad weekend. I’m looking forward to my op’ just so I can have a lie down.
To be honest, I can’t wait for this month, and the next to end. Then I might catch up and be out of whinge mode. I hate me when I’m in whinge mode. Whinge, whinge, whinge.
I really like the word ‘whinge’ though. It is perfect. It just sounds so, well, whingey.
Anyway, cough cough, here is today’s proper post. It is pretty much whinge free I think…
Mimi Queen of Memes tagged the wonderful Akelamalu at Everything and Nothing to do the band meme.
Akela’s was so fabulous, I decided to have a go as hers was so cool…
Here’s how it goes. You are about to have your own band’s CD cover. Follow these directions to the letter. It’s fun and requires no thought at all. Go to……
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post the result as a comment in this post. Also, pass it along in your own journal because it’s more amusing that way.
So I followed the instructions, and I came up with this…

It’s actually quite believable isn’t it?
But to be honest, it’s not really satisfying me musically.
You see, well, who is Jefferson Maryland?
They sound a bit sensible and serious. I have this image of a kind of anal lead singer who folds his underpants and chews everything he eats 20 times on the right and 20 times on the left, and uses tea bags at least three times before he retires them to the rubbish bin.
So I tried again,
And I came up with this…

Hmmmm. That’s more like it. I think they’d be a bit Scissor Sister’y', or like Mika or something…
..though Mankono sounds like a part Arnold Schwarzenegger would play in a futuristic, yet weirdly eighties looking film, about a poor bloke having to use his very large biceps to save the planet from the evil, yet derformed, rich man, who is planning on drowning everybody in jelly and moving to the planet next door with his pet moose.
And if you read all of that in one breath then well done. Have a biscuit.
The best part of this cover is obviously the dog.
The dog is just cool.
I would buy this album just for that dog.
Anyway, I tried on more time and I got this…

To be honest, I think this is the most ‘me’ of all three.
‘Harris Bus’ sounds kind of cute and quirky and irreverent. I think they’d be indie popsters, like Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight or Supergrass.
The picture is a bit dull though, and makes me think of soluble aspirin, but it’s not too bad.
Of course if my first album had been this, I wouldn’t have had to go on…

This would have been perfect.
Big sighhhhhh.

Lovely albums. I’d buy ‘em.
Whinge away, luv. Whinge away. Honestly though, you’re not coming across that way. More as lovely sharing of feelings-ish type stuff. Mmm…yes…so coherent today, I am.

Whinging is great as Kimberley said…whinge away. In our house, we have an imaginary character called whingey-woo, who always gets a mention if the kids start having a big moan. The slightest mention of whingey-woo always cheers up the offending moaner, no matter how old they are. I alway imagine him (and he is definitely a him) as a comic ghost-like character holding onto a trailing blanket! I’d love to write a series of books about Whingey-woo. Despite his name I am sure he could bring many people good cheer. Anyway, keep smiling and have a great party time ;-D xx

what a fun meme!
I just may have to try it this weekend.
oh and I may….or may not have something special up for Miss M later tonight…which would be early morning for you all.

You are hilarious and full of good cheer. It must be lots of fun to have you as a mother. I can imagine all sorts of comic scenes at your house. Is it genetic, this tendency toward the slapstick? Did you inherit it from someone or is it a fluke?

Happy Birthday Miss M!
But Jo, I’m sorry, my band cannot be called Michael ‘Ducksy” Walsh. Not even if I’m a solo artist
