Blog

Does your family read your blog?

David’s question this week could have been the shortest post ever.

It could have been the post of ‘Yes.’
yes.jpg

But, then I thought a bit more, and it then became the post of yes, and no;

yes-tick.jpg no-tick.jpg…!

Because, well, my sister, gorgeous Claire, who lives in Brighton, and who is the most fabulous big sis’ in the world, sometimes reads, but never comments. She tells me stuff that made her laugh, or talks about the girls and what they’re up to, but she never physically, technically, ‘actually writing words on keyboard’, comments.

But that’s ok.

I love that she reads sometimes. It makes me feel all happy.

And my gorgeous sis-in-law-to-be, and mum to Harry the cat, Sarah, reads sometimes, because she tells me. And I loike that too, because she is wicked.
(She is not really a cat’s mum. That would be weird.)

And my gorgeous sis-in-law, and mum to Miss ME, and baby J, also reads occasionally, and she is also wicked and wonderful and fab.

And Mr B reads sometimes, though I wish he read more in some ways. then I could send him subliminal messages on gifts he might like to buy, or food he might like to cook for me, or other stuff.

And my friends, who are my family too, Ju, Lucy, Lou, Rosie (who some of you will know as Ingenious Rose, and who writes the fabulous parenting Issues site – check out the link), Nic and maybe a few others that I don’t know about yet, take a peek sometimes too.

My Dad doesn’t read, but that’s ok.
I don’t think my brothers read, and that’s ok too.

But, my mum reads.

My lovely Mum.

She of the Granny love.

She chuckles about stuff I write.

She shares bloggable stories that I haven’t been witness too, like when Miss M read her the story with the ‘fags’ in it.

And she gives me her opinion, which I value immensely.

My mum is a very creative lady. I don’t know if she sees herself that way, but sometimes a little of her humour and imagination jumps out and makes me smile. I think she could write a fairly fabulous blog herself if she tried, but she is a little shy, a little more reserved maybe, and so busy I know she really wouldn’t be able to find the time.

But she still finds time to read my blog. When she reads, she is giving some of that time to me.

It is me time, and I really appreciate it.

I hope it is ‘her’ time too.

Ta mum.
Say hello in my comments.
I dare you.

You could use a made up name, like Mad Granny, or Raggy (Miss ME’s name for Granny till not so long ago), or Madamemoiselle Pamplemousse III.

Go on, or I’ll blog about you pulling that young Spanish bloke on holiday last weekend. Or the one you pulled on the beach in Brighton who asked you to rub his sun tan lotion in.

Whoops.

Sorry. ;)

P.S. If you want to answer this question, just link back to David’s blog and let him know so he can visit.

NEWS FLASH

I just blog hopped over to HP’s site and saw her fab piece on providing a laptop for her own kids, and another child.

Ahe wrote:
“In a bid to be both good for someone else and for ourselves, I took part in the buy one give one promotion by the people of One Laptop Per Child. By buying two laptops, one was gifted to a needy child and the other sent to me. My plan was to give my children their own computer so that our desktop and laptop weren’t monopolized by them playing educational software when their dad and I wanted to write, blog, or (wait, there’s not “or”).”

Sounds a fantastic idea doesn’t it?

I was also going to tell you how HP had a laptop to give away as her kids hadn’t wanted theirs, and that she was looking for a good home in the US somewhere, but I just realised the closing date for entries was yesterday, the 15th.

So, I hope it found a brill home HP, and I thought I’d add the info’ anyway as it’s such a brilliant idea I’m sure other people might be interested.  I don’t think we have anything like it in the UK.

Click on Hp’s link, or the One Laptop Per Child link to find out more about this brilliant idea.

Granny Beaufoix must DEFINATELY start blogging. We could set up a fabulous site for her, I have some great ideas for templates and banners – the Spanish bod has inspired me! He he, you’re mum is going to kill me (not that she’s the killing type of course, wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression!)
Do my family read my blog? Well Mum can’t turn the computer on so no, thank God.
Thanks for the mention by the way (and the link to my blog???? – hint!)

funny about families, isn’t it? my family certainly knows about this blog but they seldom, seldom look. ditto my very best friends–can’t get them to read it.

but fortunately there are blog friends all over tarnation, like you, Jo B, who *do* read me. and for that i thank you.

My husband reads my blog every day, so I can leave subliminal messages for him all the rime. My daughter reads my blog, but very seldom comments. It’s her way of keeping track of me, because we live so far apart. Nobody else that I am related to reads my blog and I want to keep it that way. I would feel seriously handicapped if I knew other family members were reading it. Some of my friends in the States read my blog, but I have not seen them in ages and they hardly ever comment. I think they are too shy to. Other than that, all the people who read my blog are my Internet friends and they are very important to me, because they have their blogs and I learn a lot from them about all kinds of stuff. Like you, Jo, how to have a sense of humor.

I usually have my daughter read my posts before I publish; to see if it makes sense or is truely funny… my sister and mom used to read, but I have no idea if they still do; they never comment… ah well.

I don’t think any of my family reads my blog. Every now and then, if I’ve posted something that I really want them to see, I’ll tell them.

Holly, she read, she like, but she will not comment. She is too shy. But she was really pleased. :D

Rosie, your comment made her giggle, but she has no time to blog. She already has a better social life than I could ever imagine. Sighhhhh.

Akela, it’s funny how so few read isn’t it? I know if any of my family blogged I would read it because I a far too nosey. :D

Mya, she truly hasn’t ever commented except in person. I think she likes being all mysterious. ;)

And I don’t think I’d fancy my m-in-l reading my blog either. At least if yours read your blog you’re in a another country…

Momo it’s so weird isn’t it?

Kitten, I get Mr B to read stuff sometimes too if I’m not sure.
Hope you’re all doing ok. x

Cami, I’d love that. I remember reading that comment I think. Cool.

Corey, what’s not to like about your tutus babe.

HP, see, I told you I was a bit dim. Must be the weather, or erm, something.

Laurie, it is funny. And I love your blog, it’s amazing.

Irene you are so lovely. And there are some people I wouldn’t really want to read my blog. It’s kind of a safe place where I can say stuff I might not otherwise say sometimes. Everyone should have one.

Leendaluu, it’s a pleasure hon. You are fabulous. Love you too.

Maureen, hi. I bet they still read. I’ll be over to say hi soon. Thanks for visiting.

Rosie, it’s a no no, but you made her smile.

Mama Zen, I do that too with Mr B or my sister-in-laws etc. :)

    Belle, I don’t know why. It’s fabulous. :D

jettied, I know what you mean. I was a little sad when my sister didn’t read at first, but she does now sometimes. It does feel really good when someone you know tells you they’ve read something doesn’t it. :D

Kimberly, me too, especially as my blog is on Facebook so it’s out there a little bit more with people I know. Hee hee.
