Mariposa, this week’s fabulous Fun Monday host has asked the following of us…

(1) Please share to us how the NAME of your BLOG was made? I can’t wait to hear interesting funny stories!

(2) Please share to us (in words or photo, though a combination of both will be a bonus!) your favorite/ most common dish!

Hmmmm.

Well my blog name is partly my real name, and partly a variation of my real name, kind of.
It all came when I began reading my mate Napoleon’s blog, and also another cool blogger called Queen Minx, who has since disappeared.

Mr B, my long suffering hubby was already commenting on Napoleon’s blog, what with him being one of his bezzie mates, and a fellow band member, (see advert at the top of my blog for Enormous if you can – apparently it doesn’t show for everyone.) Sooo, I didn’t want to use our name, as Mr B already was, so I used this instead.

If you knew what my real surname was you would possibly think less Francais, and more Grimsby, but I’m not telling you what it is as I also like the idea of a little bit of anonymity for my family.

Not very exciting is it?

Of course, what I could say, is that my name is actually French for ‘fabulous yet slightly elk-like’ which would sum me up very well, but, well, it would be a lie.

UPDATE:  Just had a quick peep at my comments before heading off to bed, and realised I forgot to say, ‘Beaufoix or Beaufois’ is actually the original of my real surname, it’s just I have a somewhat anglicised version of it.  So the routes of our name can be traced back to France, 1096 or thereabouts.

Now, part II, my favourite dish?

This is so hard because, well, food is nice right? I like so many different things, but I really love Vegetable Biryani, Greek Salad, or a yummy veggie risotto.

Right now I’m thinking the Biryani pips it, but only as it’s so long since I had one.

Mmmmmm,

Biryani.

And if you’re stuck for something to make for dinner tonight, or looking for a new name for your child, pet or anything else you might wish to name, (Cami), then head over to Mariposa’s place to check out all the other Fun Monday-ers.

Jo the surname Bottomslove is nothing to be ashamed of. I think you should come out on your blog.

Jo your blog is making me look like a sad case. I did not post that comment at 7.37am as it says I did!

Rosie, and your surname, ‘Monkeyloverextraordinaire’ is equally acceptable, whatever you feel it may say about your ancestry. Be proud young lady, chin up, chest out, and put down that banana.
And it was 7.37am somewhere young lady.

The Frog Queen is devastated to learn that Beaufoix isn’t your real name! Not French at all.

It’s Clutterbuck or Mardypants or something like that?

Your name has always kept me guessing. I figured you were French from the start but all the blimeys and such of course let me know you were a Brit. Which made me wonder if you had some kind of Normad ancestory…I guess I have my answer now…Yummy dishes!

oh YEAH! cami’s supposed to be naming something! c’mon cam! get well! quickly!

wait. sorry, i got distracted by the cami reference.

anyway. i am a korma girl. i LOVE me some korma. or anything coconutty indian. i had a biryani once, on the should-try-other-dishes idea. well, it was quite nice. but i kept thinking ‘wish i’d got the korma’. but i LOVE greek salad. (at first i typed ‘geek’ salad. i wonder if that’s nice too. i doubt it. probably has eggs…)

when i come up for the second installment of the great uk blogger meet up, we three should have indian takeout (although that will depend on belle liking indian takeout. i’m too addle-brained to remember just this minute…)

Well, this may be a little off the mark, but I am guessing you are not from Texas and I am thinking not from the US though I have met someone in Nevada with your Beaufoix namesake. Your eating habits are much better than mine.
But as it seems I will still remain in a state of confusion over the name = which is really quite nice, I will still come to visit your site just to say hello. Nice to meet you. Hope to see you around (I like your awards too) NLM

Belle, my real name is posh, sort of, if you say it in a posh way. Honest.

Dumdad, hee hee, ‘Mardy pants’. If it makes the Frog Queen feel any better, my real name is of French origin, and was originally Beaufoix or Beaufois in around 1096 or something.

Ellenb, I love Indian food. It is just so tasty.

Rosie Mylover, is that what the postman calls you?

Joe, my hubby has Norman ancestry, but there are Denshams in my family so we do have some French connections too.

Akela, well it kind of is…

Kim, lunch, mmmmm. HAve a biryani, you know you want to.

Cynthia, yes, I tend to do the restaurant thing rather than cook my own. It’s always so much nicer when someone else has cooked it. :D

Hee hee, can’t wait Cami. Get better soon sweetie. xx

Sauntering Soul, a biryani burger? Wow, that sounds fab.

chrisb, I am glad, and Mr B will be happy the ad is there.

Susan, me too. It is my favourite Indian dish. I always think I’ll try something else, then I chicken out as I love biryani so much. :D

Faye, I found the picture and chose the words, but I am very lucky to have Ashley at Upstart Blogger for my own personal blog designer. He’s amazing.

Holl, hee hee, geek salad would definitely be eggy. And I love Korma too. Sometimes I find it a little too sweet, but that would be my second favourite. We should definitely see if Belle is up for Indian, specially if we are in brum (Birmingham). They are meant to have the best Indian Food. Slurp. And I cannot wait for the Cami contest, hee hee.

Janet, it nearly is. I promise.

Corey, a beaufoix by any other name would smell as yummy. You do so know me, in fact, Jo Beaufoix is more the real me than any other name as I’ve really found the confidence to just be me here. If I ever get published I plan to use Beaufoix if they let me.

Nekked Lizard Man, thanks, and you are welcome any time. I like me a bit of Nekked Lizard, hee hee.

Sandy, thanks. The Greek salad does look gorgeous doesn’t it. Yum.

Pamela, I love that you bugled, hee hee. :D

Alison, my name is Joanne too, but I prefer Jo as my Dad always used to say “Jo anne” when I’d been naughty. ;)
And I am loving your adoption stories. You all sound amazing.

Michelle, thanks for visiting. And they are yummy, I promise. :)

Racheal, ouch, hee hee. I suppose pain is always a good way to train the brain. But still, ouch. :D
