Miss M, 3 year old genius

Today M arrived home with yet another work of art.

Rosie had popped over for a cuppa, and Miss M proudly displayed her creative genius by hurling a spotty picture onto the floor in front of her and doing a kind of little kid dance, you know, the kind footballers do after they score.

Me: “Did you use your fingers to make the spots M?”

Miss M: “No, I used a dinosaur.”

Me: “Erm, ok. Are those the dinosaur’s footprints?”

Miss M: “Yes. It did go stamp, stamp on my picture.”

Me: “And what was your dinosaur called?”

As these words left my lips, I expected one of two answers, either,

1. Miss M: “It didn’t have a name mama. It’s a toy. It can’t talk.”

Or,

2. Miss M: “Bob”, or something along those lines.

Instead I got,

Miss M: “It was a ceratops.”

As Rosie choked on her coffee, I gulped and asked,

Me: “A triceratops M?”

Miss M: “Yes. A tr, tr,ceratops.”

Rosie: “Blimey, did she read that in her encyclopedia on the way to Nursery?”

So erm, yeah, my child, the three year and 1 month old genius.

I love it when they surprise you. :D

I filmed this later to see if she’d say the same thing.

Result.

Haha! I recall my younger brother being obsessed with dinosaurs at a young age also, and dang it if he did not know the name of every single one! He had one of those dinosaur model sets with the plstic figurines and he could name them all!!! Amazing. I don’t think I can do that as an adult!!!

Glad you’re back home and on the road to recovery. Hoorah!

Aw bless, she performed for the camera. Not often they do that.
Are you sure she didn’t say ‘Sarah Tops’ though. Nice girlie name for a dinosaur I think.

Pure genius. I’d inform Oxford and Cambridge universities and let them fight it out as to which one will take Miss M. Obviously, all college fees will be waived; indeed, they should offer her a salary for attending.

My son’s therapist was playing a fishing game with him the other day, and when she asked him what kind of “fish” he caught, he said, “An anemone”. I can barely say that word!
