Once there was a little pigeon called Simon.

One day, fed up of his pigeon coloured feathers, of the dark roof top grey, and the pale pavement gray, and the shimmering oily green at his throat, Simon decided to go shopping.
While most of us would think that quite unusual, Simon had no concerns about his little adventure, for he could dart about mostly unseen, and he was far quicker than any security guard Mansfield District Council could afford. He was not afraid of small children as they tended to run away if he flapped his wings, and many people just thought him a quaint model, a feature meant to brighten the old 70s building that held this small towns consumables.
He entered the Four Seasons Shopping Centre and glanced around.
There was so much to see.
Should he explore the dark realms of ‘Game’ where small boys and grown men battled against misshapen adversaries, or played air guitar and invisible tennis in a far corner of somewhere else?
Should he visit WHSmiths and peruse the wildlife section in search of famous relatives?
Or should he answer the call of Holland & Barretts health food shop where the pleasant aroma of numerous and varied seeds were calling to him gently, ‘breakfast’, ‘lunch’, ‘elevenses?’
Then, he caught sight of his reflection in the shiny facade of Top Shop, and his mind was made up, he decided to press on with his quest for clothing.
He arrived in Debenhams unseen but for a handful of shaven headed, baseball cap covered, track suited boys, who attempted to tease him into their grubby little hands by hurling several fat chips and half a sausage in his direction, but he was not fooled.
Suddenly, he was in paradise.

Well, paradise if you are a grey pigeon in search of colour and style and inspiration.
He set to work…

The surfer dude.

The biker boy.

The lady.
Yes, this is one pigeon who is completely comfortable with his sexuality.
At last, happy with his purchases, he headed for home,

..nodding at Miss M and Miss E as he passed them, his bag of goodies tucked neatly under his wing.

Just a quick reminder.
I will be hosting next weeks Fun Monday. I can’t wait.
And the subject??
I want to know about your first ‘celebrity’ crush.
Did you have pictures on your wall or in your locker? Did you dress like them, style or colour your hair like them, follow them, meet them, marry them? (It could happen.)
Photos of them would be good, photos of YOU at the time you liked them would be even better.
Also, I also want to know whether they had any influence over your life, the person you became, or if they were just an embarrassing blip you would kind of rather forget about.
Okay?
Please leave me a comment below, and let me know if you’d like to join our merry band. You won’t regret it, and I’d love to add you to my list, which begins with…
1. Swampwitch, Anecdotes, Antidotes & Anodes who was last week’s fabulous host.
2. Robin who is hosting this week’s Fun Monday.
She’s asking us to ‘please share words that inspire and motivate you–brief or bloviatory, silly or serious, from great world leaders to last night’s Comedy Central…from a Hallmark greeting card to your favorite book. Choose one, choose many; let the quotes stand on their own or tell where you first read or heard them and how they affected you. ‘
Thanks
