Miss M: “Gib me dat pencil E. It my good morning pencil.”
???
It’s amazing when you start looking into it, just how many little things you can do everyday that will help the environment.
Friends of the Earth have a daily tip that you can subscribe to to help you to run your life in a more environmentally friendly way.
I subscibed today and decided to act on one of the tips…
Though I won’t be doing what I remember my friends mum doing, i.e. cutting up a certain piece of clothing to use as a dishcloth.

Shivers.
Also, my bag free internet shop came this morning and it was fine. For a little while my kitchen was a no go area as Mr B and I cleared the kitchen rug of our weeks consumables, but we’ll definitely do it again.
Result.

Knickers as duster…yep. My mother used to do that too.

Jo my mother used to clean the kitchen with old pants, boiled beforehand of course. I’m in a dilema now though. Our generation has grown up being told that disposable dish clothes are more hygenic as they don’t sit around breeding germs (according to Kim and Aggy and a ton of scientific research) but now we’re being told to copy our parents and help save the planet. It creates a lot of confusion and frustration in the minds of little people like me Jo. I’m nervous about entering you kitchen now Jo!!

Oi! I see a list of recommended sites Jo and I paid you £100 to put me on it. I want a refund please!

Every single light in my house is off and all the curtains are open. My big windows are helping me save the world – woot!

AoJ, it used to make me giggle so much.
Rosie, I figure I can boil wash the cloths. I’m going to give it a try. And as I’ve told you before young lady, the site isn’t finished. There will be a separate page for my lovely blogroll. Do not despair. It will be back.
Kim, go girl.

what are we supposed to do with knickers when they get old and crusty then? i mean, it would seem the perfect progression, wouldn’t it? crusty panties on your table? oh now i’m just making my*self* sick. i’ll stop that.
um, i’m going to go temporarily green and turn off the lights for the night.
for sleeping.
and i hope when i wake up, i have a good morning pencil. i know my husband usually has morning wood. oh crud, this is a family blog, isn’t it! sorry!

Holl, hee hee. Remind me to hide the granny knickers before you get here.
And I’m glad you have a good morning pencil. It means you can draw the curtains or something. And wood isn’t a rude word you know. Don’t worry. And it’s always good to know ones friends husbands are in good working order.

Very good post! Love the song. LOL! You got a head start on your book more than me. But I still have a pretty good start, now just need to find time and finish!

Wishing you good progress on the book edit, Jo. From what I hear it’s the getting started. . .
Something tells me you have much to toot your trumpet for–we Americans could learn a lot from our British friends about playing things a little closer to our chests.
