Earth Day and heavy stuff

earth-day.jpg

Today it is Earth day.

As in , the earth.

So we plan to take the bus home instead of adding our petrol fumes to the ether, (This has nothing to do with my mum not being able to pick us up and Mr B needing the car, honest) and we have seeds to plant.

Of course this all depends on how long it takes Mr lovely electrician to mend Miss M’s light fitting which crumbled away when we tried to change it for a nice new Ikea one.

So for now I’ll leave you with something interesting I learned from Miss M today.

All about us…

Miss M: “Mum, we got very sharp teeth, very sharp nails and very heby, what’s dese called?”

Me: “Elbows.”

Miss M: “Very heby elbows.”

Me: “Oh right???”

Then she strolls away purposefully.

Hmmm, very heavy elbows, pointy teeth, sharp nails…

Could my child be part Vampire Orangutan?

Is there anyone I should inform about this?

It’s 7pm.

I’m back.

I had to cancel the electrician as we are brassic till Friday. Bugger.

But we still walked into town, came home on the bus and planted stuff.

Look…

Water.

Water some more.

Bounce on trampoline till Daddy gets home.

Perfect.

And tomorrow I will tell you all about Hootin’ Anni’s pay it forward, and how you can get ’stuff’ from me for fun.

Hooray.

Planting seeds with my kids when they were little was one of my favorite things! We used to line baskets with plastic about a month before Easter and plant grass and flower seeds and there would be a little garden ready for them on Easter. I still love gardening. Can’t wait to see how your seeds do!

What a perfect earth day. The photos of your lovely girls planting were beautiful. A great activity for earth day. Today for earth day (which I missed yesterday due to weather), I am going to medicate myself to kingdom come, get out the hoe, stick on the iPod, and get the weeds out of the rose bed if it kills me. Then feed them. Then start the thankless task of breaking up the topsoil so we can put down compost. I think I might actually get as far as the rose bed before collapsing. Happy earth day to the Misses E and M!
