It’s amazing the stuff you can buy in Schmesco these days.

I had to buy this as a homage to the Homely Ferret which you can read about here and see Miss M showcasing here just in case you missed it. It tasted alright, kind of like a Mansfield Bitter, which they no longer make. Mr B polished it off as I preferr the Grolsch we already had in the fridge.
Then I picked up one of these.
It was two for one but I decided one was enough.
And I carried them all home in my lovely Schmesco ladybird bag.
Oh, and I have to tell you about my book bargains, knowing that most of you are book lovers too.
Look…
Seven books for just £3.50 which is about the equivalent of $1.75 I think.
UPDATE Derrr, what was my brain doing yesterday? Here I am after 4 hours sleep, yes four hours folks, lucky me, and I read all your comments and thought, ‘Jo, have you gone mad?’, of course £3.50 is about $7.00. I knew this I promise, I just didn’t know it when I wrote this part of the post, just during that minute. Scary isn’t it?
Anyway, cough, £3.50, that’s 50p a book, people! They normally cost around 10 times that much for one,and they came from my local PDSA shop so that money was going to charity too. Result.
So I have this warm and fuzzy feeling inside and a big smug grin on my face. I do love me a good literary bargain.
Have a fab Sunday.

Looks like a grand shopping trip. The two for one deal, I would have been really tempted to get two. Little girls are wonderful. I was saying to my husband recently, we really need another little granddaughter. Ours is 15, and wonderful, but no longer little.
Your really got some good books. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them. I’m always interested in the different covers (art) on books, for different markets. Very interesting.

Books! I LOOOOOOVE Books! I didn’t know Ishiguro had another book out. I’ll have to look for “When We Were Orphans”. Thanks for helping me build my reading list!
Happy Mother’s Day!

Oh, I wish you had picked up two and sent me the other one!

Oooo…yay for the books! The drink…wow…decidedly odd, that. Bet they thought that was a stroke of marketing genius. “I know! I know what people want to drink…you ready for this? Right, yes…ferrets! Brilliant, eh?”
It’s a scary world, my dear. Scary, scary.

Hey, thrilled to hear your blogiversary is coming up, and that you share it with me.
Look at you, though. Pro blogger; site revamped; colourful photos at every turn; trademark ostrich. Mine is still on the same ploddingly unoriginal Blogger template, nary a picture in sight.
Congratulations, Jo, on a fantastic year. You’re a bloggging triumph and I can’t believe you’re not on my blogroll. Dreadful oversight which I’m about to correct.

I just read part of the worst book ever written. But I got it for free. But it still was horribly bad…
so good job finding good books. And the Fursty Ferret? Very interesting…..

If £3.50 was about $1.75 I’d be rich and dancing in the street. Unfortunately £3.50 is closer to over $7.00. All because Bush has systematically destroyed the Dollar over the past 8 years.
The future for the US Dollar is bleak. If things continue it will be almost worthless in under 10 years. The Euro is already the preferred currency for the rest of the world.
Why on Earth the yanks elected a lying cheating retard TWICE is beyond comprehension. Things could get better with Obama, but he won’t get in – America is still a racist place, there is no way they will elect a non white president.
It really is a very sad state of affairs.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, great blog, congrats on your first year. You’ll go a long way girl, I can feel it!

So, did they scan Miss M (or is that E) like at the start of the Simpsons? Oh, and while the exchange rate is roughly 2 to 1, you went ass backwards, it’s closer to 7 USD.

Ferret drink? Sorry, but don’t even sound good. I love how you little one thinks. It’s so cute! It makes me miss mine being little.
I got to tell one little story. When DJ was 5, he wanted to get saved. As far as I could tell he understood everything pretty good, until he got to telling me about the applying of the blood. He thought you really applied blood on you. LOL! I wish I had wrote his words down as you have of your little girls, but we didn’t have a computer and I didn’t know what one was. LOL! Can you imagine that?
Happy mother’s day!

Oh that drink would be perfect for my Ferret Fawcett!
Good deal on the books! Have you read Odd Thomas yet? I loved it.
May 12th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Hee hee, Jan I have too, but Miss E is 7 and was at school. A few times I’ve had them both in the trolley reading a couple of magazines while I shop and people have asked me which shelf I got them from.
And the books were just a brilliant deal, I was so pleased. I find book art interesting too, and how covers get revamped from time to time.
BelleV, I haven’t read any Ishiguro yet. I’m excited now as he’s obviously good.
Happy Mother’s Day to you too.
Mrs Weasley, I so should have done.

Kim, it really is, hee hee.
Iota that’s so lovely, but your blog is pretty spectacular. Fabulous writing, honest and hilarious. What more could anyone want?
Mie, thanks, I get so annoyed when I read a bad book. There are so many fab writers out there who aren’t published. Tsk.
Lisa, hi and thanks. I’m putting my dollar mishap down to exhaustion, but hey, the UK hasn’t gone for the Euro yet either which seems daft as we’re in Europe. And anyone has t be better than Bush right? I have my fingers crossed for you all. I hope race doesn’t come into it but it might, and it probably would here too. That’s so sad isn’t it?
Corey, I read every night, even when I’m shattered, I just have to. It’s not always a good thing though, yawn. Dean Koontz is fab. I’ve read Odd Thomas before and I loved it.
Mariposa, hee hee, they’re all out of the cute ones now,
And that’s so annoying that books are expensive. Have you thought of buying from ebay or secondhand on Amazon??
WT, she’s have loved to be scanned. (It was Miss M). And I had a mad moment with the dollars. Definitely ass backwards.
Holl, I’ll cwtch mine from you if you cwtch yours from me ok? xx
Kitten that’s cute. It’s one of the best things about blogging, I have all this stuff I would have forgotten. I love that.
Groovy Mom, I’ll be over to visit your Ferret Fawcett soon. And I loved Odd Thomas, and Forever Odd and Brother Odd, but I think Odd Thomas was my favourite. I bought this one for a friend.
