I’m in Schmesco.

I’m alone.

As I walk past the security guard I glance at the kiosk inside the door and suddenly I have an urge. A little voice inside my head is whispering, ‘Do it. Buy one.’

I ignore it at first. I walk on past the end-of-day flowers that are beginning to nod and droop. I avoid the toy aisles, I have no child with me today so there is no insistent tug on my sleeve or little voice making promises of perfection if I allow them just one look, just for a minute.

Then I see the thing.

The wanted thing.

The needed thing.

THE thing.

And the little voice begins again, ‘Do it, buy one’ and I think, ‘maybe it’s a sign?’

So…

I do.

Lol, I know that feeling. I went through a phase in my early 20s when every card I bought at least won me my pound back and usually a couple more. No big wins but enough to keep me going back! Those days are long gone and I join you waiting for my SVTHO!

I wants one too. I asked for one for my 30th birthday next month. 30th…that warrants Neil spending five times the usual birthday budget, right?

Oooh, I’ve been getting that urge lately too. Probably because of bills related to Superdork driving and going to college. :-P

I’ve had that voice on occasion too. Of course I’m a multi millionaire now. My voice must be better than yours.

The very first one I bought, I won $100. That was 20 years ago, and it’s the last thing I won.

Hey, what kind of amount is 7,000 pounds? why not 5 or 10?

It’s soooo tempting to buy one of those, the chance of such a huge reward for such a little investment. Sigh…sorry you didn’t win anything. (I finally gave up buying any as I’ve NEVER one anything with them)
