Blog

Tonight Holly and the Queen of Hearts will arrive at Chez Beaufoix, later to be joined for a short time by the lovely Belle who I have yet to thank for the party bag I received earlier this week. We have a big weekend ahead of us, including a certain virtual rendezvous with a Miss C and a Miss B. On Saturday we will be attending the birthday party of Ingenious Junior who will be 5, yes goddamit, FIVE. And then Holl and the Queen will be guests of honour at the matinee performance of Oliver in which Miss E is performing at the moment. (By guests of honour I mean folks who will join in ‘pass the kid’ as cousins ME and baby J will also be attending this performance with my mum and my SIL Helly.)

I am so excited as I love Holly and Belle to bits. This is the best part of blogging, the true friends you can make, people who are so like you and who inspire you and who you would never have met if you hadn’t entered this virtual yet very real world that is ‘the blogosphere.’

And now, as I have almost probably nearly made you sick, I will leave you with a short list of things you should know about flies, just so you can get that bile taste out of your mouths before you leave.

1. Flies rarely carry handbags. This has nothing to do with their weight or the fact they could get in the way of their wings, but everything to do with the fact that flies get paid in shamrocks which they clip to their toes with hair slides, therefore rendering any handbag/purse type object useless, and a waste of shamrocks.

2. Flies can only eat one piece of sweetcorn a year, or else they implode.

3. Flies are a little bit scared of the actor Robert Downey Junior. It is something to do with his eyebrows.

4. Flies do not believe in goats. If they see a goat they pretend they haven’t as other flies will think they are mad and avoid them.

5. Flies can only count to seven and have to say the word ‘periscope’ after each number.

Flies also cannot play hopscotch. It’s against their religion.

flies are also horrible spellers, needing to google almost everything they have to spell. this doesn’t really work, as google has no idea what ‘ffudsiaop’ is, so it says ‘did you mean ‘ffudsiag’?’ which, of course, they never do.

    i can’t wait! mere hours!

I think you need to write a children’s book about flies. It would be a big hit.

    Except with the goats.

Tara, I need to add that one. I love Tom Jones. I once wrote a poem about a moth at a Tom Jones concert, maybe it was really a fly. You think I’m weird now don’t you??

Belle, David as in David Tennant? I would love him all warm and sweet from the oven. Whoops, sounding a bit pervy there, sorry mum.

Lindy, we will. And we will have to all play too soon.

Nikki, blimey I forgot that one. That could have been so embarrassing for someone. ;)

Irene, and you are a fabulous one. Sorry I’ve not caught up yet. I will. :D

    Holl, damn google.

Karisma I am so lucky as they are fabulous. :D
