Where am I?

The creative and fabulous Gattina is our Fun Monday host today and her request is that we show her our blogging space.

I’d love to say that I spend my writing and reading time here…

home-office-1.jpg

Or that my view as I blog away to my little heart’s content is this,

laptop_beach.jpg

..or maybe this.

laptop-field.jpg

But let’s face it, that would be a big lie.

No, when I blog, I’m in my kitchen at the family PC surrounded by a ton of, well, stuff.

Proof that I took this this very morning is the fact you can see my muesli bowl, the toys that have been played with so much this holiday (I have given up keeping them tidy), and the empty tank, home of our deceased gerbil, Laura/Flora who passed away on Friday.

I know it looks mad but it works well for me and means I am close to my family and always surrounded by noise and colour.

Oh, and the view from my blogging place is usually kind of special too.

Have a fab day folks and check out all the other Fun Monday blogging spaces over at Writer Cramps. You know you want to, I mean who doesn’t like peeping into other people’s homes?

LOL you do a great job surrounded by all that! Love the child’s shoes!

2 Adventure Mother 09.01.08 at 2:40 am

I’m impressed. Beats my four and a half foot square box room.

3 Hootin' Anni 09.01.08 at 3:55 am

Oh boy, oh boy….I think that your ‘real’ life of blogging is far better than what you’re dreaming. No, seriously. You can’t have a view like that anywhere but home!! [that photo of her is just too darned precious!!! ---Gotta love it!]

My Fun Monday Blogging Area is posted now if you’d like to take a gander…..stop by. Have a great day.

Looks sorta like my space! I love it!
Thanks for the warm wishes!

5 Rebecca (Ramblings by Reba) 09.01.08 at 6:24 am

My space looks like that sometimes, but I don’t have the excuse of a child making the “stuff.” Oops. :)

Love the picture of your daughter with the oversized boots. Reminds of a Normal Rockwell painting! It was very nice meeting you. I Beati spotlighted your blog on share the love. Have a wonderful day! Buona giornata!

7 IamwhoIam 09.01.08 at 6:38 am

LOL way cool - the bowl was the fininshing touch love it.

8 Tara@From Dawn Till Rusk 09.01.08 at 7:48 am

Never room for mum among all the children’s stuff. I bet you have to shoehorn yourself in there - on the plus side, no one would even know you’re there so you could hide away for a couple of hours/minutes.

Love it! I think it’s the perfect place right in the middle of chaos because the best blogging comes from chaos, right? That’s why I like my desk in the middle of my house where I’m surrounded by everyone. Sometimes makes it hard to concentrate (like right now with my daughter nattering in my ear about something orange and slimy whilst her stuffed animals smother me with kisses and I try and remember what word comes next in my sentence so it all makes sense…gak!). Thanks for the glimpse into your space. I love seeing other peoples’ spaces.

I love your blogging space. It’s homey. :)

11 Heather of the EO 09.01.08 at 8:33 am

Just as it should be! If you were really in the first two pictures, blogging away, I’d have to stop reading, in fear of your perfection. The counter next to me right now has a little aquarium, a bottle of water (big), a printer, loads of paper piles, a box of kleenex, a cheese grater, a camera, a glass of water, a baby monitor and a remote. And it’s a very small space.

Your view rocks!!!!!!!

13 Junebug 09.01.08 at 9:51 am

That was a very clever intro. I was thinking “wow” wish that were my house. And the beach photo was enticing as well. I have a little messy place to blog which I share with my hubby. It is my daughter’s old bedroom, now a guitar and amplifier room.

14 storyteller 09.01.08 at 9:54 am

Hahaha … you definitely had me sucked in (#2 COULD be me if I was willing to walk a block and a half with my computer and chair to the sand)… feeling embarrassed about MY cluttered workspace … and I’m so relieved to see what your space REALLY looks like. Very cleverly executed post! Mine’s up at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,

15 Daryl 09.01.08 at 10:01 am

I have about the same amount of space .. but my surrounding mess is mine not the cats or Husband’s……

16 eastcoastlife 09.01.08 at 10:12 am

You have me fooled! I was in awe of your blogging spaces until I scroll down. hahaha…..

Nice one. I like your blog.

17 chrisb 09.01.08 at 10:26 am

A lovely homely work place. I have no excuse for the clutter around mine LOL

18 Jientje 09.01.08 at 11:12 am

I love your work space Jo, especially the ones outside!!!!

19 mielikki 09.01.08 at 12:09 pm

that looks like a well loved blogging space. I blog from my couch, and frankly, it would be a very boring picture. I did put up pictures of my kitchen, today, though. So lets pretend I blog from there…
love the shoes on the little one……

20 Almost Mrs Average 09.01.08 at 12:18 pm

LOL - Jo, Are you sure you’re not in my house. My place so resembles that. Does it have anything to do with blogging I wonder….mmmm…hubby seems to think so :-D x

21 Lilacspecs 09.01.08 at 12:40 pm

I was SOOO jealous at picture one.
Now I feel better.
Thanks!

22 Rosie 09.01.08 at 12:57 pm

I thought the photo of the beautiful kitchen looked familiar, then I realised, of course, it’s mine! How silly of me.

23 Ellen B 09.01.08 at 1:52 pm

I love your very creative post. It’s good to stay in the thick of things and blog where your young fashionistas hang out for sure. My little one bedroom is very easy to keep tidy because #1 it’s tiny, #2 it’s only my husband and I to make a mess. I’m in a totally different stage of life than you. enjoy your little ones and your space :0)

24 judysteapot 09.01.08 at 2:00 pm

wonderful LOL

25 grace 09.01.08 at 2:40 pm

you fooled me! but I still like your space because it works for you. took me forever to figure out how to post a comment on your blog…

26 swampangel65 09.01.08 at 3:18 pm

Your blog space is a well used and well loved area, I can tell…though I really do like that first picture. Wish I had a nice spot like that one!

27 Lindy 09.01.08 at 3:18 pm

have you ever tried using a laptop outside? Ya no you can’t see anything so that beach person is suuuch a poser!! Looks like my house except I’m in the livingroom!!

28 Pamela 09.01.08 at 3:31 pm

oh… you nailed me with the boots. precious.

29 holly 09.01.08 at 3:55 pm

i am actually in bed. you ain’t seen me or my comment, which was actually written last tuesday.

anyway. i so want that first room. but without the comfy chair. i’ll have something a little more cushion-y.

love miss m’s shoes!!! she must really get around great with those.

30 Jan 09.01.08 at 5:38 pm

You had me going with that first photo, I thought OMG, who is this woman and does she have a life. The I got it, a little slow today, I guess.

31 Kimberly 09.01.08 at 6:27 pm

Once upon a time I would’ve preferred that first picture, but I know better now. There’s no warmth or happiness there. I think the real thing looks muchly better.

32 Maureen 09.01.08 at 6:44 pm

Ha! You are hilarious… love the notes on that first photo. I wish I had a space like that too. I am now off to sneak a peek at other’s spaces.

33 Faye 09.01.08 at 7:08 pm

Oh! You had me in that first photo–about to get a bad case of blogspot envy and then I could see where you MAY be going with your story! Agree about the beautiful view from your blogspot. Why do they get these fetishes for adult shoes/socks? Those boots are quite fashionable.

34 Lisa's Chaos 09.01.08 at 7:45 pm

I totally want that kitchen and view too! But it looks like your little haven is filled with love and connections. :)

35 Alison 09.01.08 at 7:50 pm

I love your space, it much better than the other photos!!

36 Don Mills Diva 09.01.08 at 8:18 pm

Who could ask for a better view than that?

37 Woodlandmama 09.01.08 at 10:49 pm

Nice view, even if you see it from a mad house.

38 Belle 09.02.08 at 1:05 am

Fab view. Must show you my blog space soon :)

39 Akelamalu 09.02.08 at 7:58 am
