10.40pm Jo and Mr B finish putting together Miss M’s wardrobe.
The room is done.
Jo is so knackered she can barely type and has gone all third person.
Weird.
You want pictures?
Well I can’t give you the before as I forgot to take pics, but where Miss M’s bed is now there were built in wardrobes. Her walls were all white with jungle animals on a border. She had a painting of a cat and a dog, and also cartoon faces of myself, Mr B and Miss E looking down on where her cot stood.

(I’m going to frame a photo of it for her new room so we’re still there watching over her.)
It was basically a uni-sex baby room.
But now…
It is pink…
..and pretty.
And perfect for a sleepy Miss M.
We still haven’t bought her a full size bed (yep, I got outbid – grrr), but the new fairy and butterfly bed covers seemed to help with that.
It’s kind of hard to show you the full look as it’s a really small room, but she has room to play, room to stretch and room to grow. What more could a 3 year old want?
Now as for the 8 year old, well, guess who wants a room makeover now??
Bugger.
NB. The cute new wardrobe is here. Sorry for the fuzziness but Miss M was asleep so I didn’t want to take long.

Jo it turned out great! It’s pink, for sure. But if pink is her color then it is absolutely PERFECT. Nice job, Mum.

AW…. what a lucky little girl! Her room is precious, Jo! Great job, and love the furniture too!

It looks fab. I would have loved a room like this. I love the butterfly stencils. Did you do all those yourselves? You are very talented if you did! It is just brill.
(Just need some pink sort of curtains. Or white. But pink is better. I love pink!)
Bet Miss M went ape. :0)

It’s the darnedest thing, but for some reason I have an overwhelming urge for a musk stick!
September 23rd, 2008 at 4:48 pm
And if I had read the first post first I would have been able to save the question of whether or not you are posting pics : ) It’s beautiful and I’m sure she must absolutely love it!!!

Awww… You really HAVE been busy! It looks great. I would have been thrilled to have such a bedroom as a little girl.

It looks great! And the green gingham curtains look great with the pink. Pink and green are classic little girl colors!
Thanks for giving us pictures.
Or, tell Jo I said thanks.
Haha

Lovely job Jo, I’m sure it’s right up her alley.

Looks beautiful. Picklesister HAD to have a pink everything room when she was 3. Now she’s 10.5 and wants it BLACK! You can imagine what Picklesdad has to say about THAT! He expects the room to last her till she leaves home at about 35!

Isn’t it fab doing up a child’s bedroom. Although I have to say you are very brave letting her have her kitchen cooker and sink in there – my daughter would be out of her bed cooking up a feast/washing up/sorting out the vegetables – anything to distract her from the business of actually sleeping.
She has that exact cooker/sink combo too! Vertbaudet by any chance?

It is SO beautiful…wow, I’m amazed at your quick accomplishments. I have cans of paint here there and everywhere and not a drop on the walls. I might have to hire Jo and Crew to help me out

I am so jealous right now . i hate to paint- dislike intensely- abhor it. The room looks fun- My grandaughter Mara GRace would approve sandy

Oh Jo.. its perfect!
Now I want a pink pretty room with gingham curtains and flutterbys on the walls … what does Ms E want in her new room?
September 24th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Mie, pink is definitely her colour at the moment. I’m just hoping she likes pink for the next few years.
Maureen thanks. We only added the wardrobe which was a bargain and fitted perfectly. I love doing kids rooms.
Crazycath, I copied the big butterfly but drew the rest myself. They all have smiley faces and are all different. I had fun, I am such a kid.
WT, heh heh, sorry, pink girlie overload.
Erin, she does. Taking out those wardrobes has just given her so much more space.
Hilary, me too. I love making their rooms look special.
Sybil, I like the gingham and the pink and it means we don’t have to change her curtains, carpet or lightshade. I’m all for saving some dosh. Hee hee.
Corey, I bet Sugar’s room is fab as you are a crafty mummy. (Crafty in a good way, not, you know, like a fox or a witch or something.)
Lilacs, she loves it.
Picklesmum, black, blimey. You could do her a really smart monochrome room. I saw one the other day where the walls were kind of a warm grey with black and white accessories and it looked great.
Tara, I love Vertbaudet. The cooker was Miss E’s then she grew out of it. The first thing M did was start making dinner, but she knows no real water is allowed if Mummy isn’t there.
Lee, I would love to help. I have to do these things quick or I get bored. Luckily my mum had Miss M yesterday so I could finish it off.
Sandy, I don’t mind it if it’s a small room. And I love the name Mara Grace, it’s gorgeous.
Daryl, Miss E wants pink, which is good, but she has to decide whether or not we go over the pink castle mural I did for her when she was 3. She also has to tidy first, big time.

That is ADORABLE! You are a talented woman, not to mention the energizer bunny!

Sometimes (when reading your posts) I feel like we might be sisters separated at birth. Other times, not so much … but your ‘painting post’ soooo reminds me of myself! That said … I love the pink and white transformation here and think Miss M is one lucky gal for sure. Today I’m ‘almost wordless’ at Sacred Ruminations … and Whimsically Wordy at Small Reflections … showing two sides of myself I guess.
Hugs and blessings,

What a fantastic job you did Jo!

It’s gorgeous! I’m about to start on Tilly’s. But first we have to finish the sitting room. But before we do that we have to start …!
