I NEED SLEEP NOW.

Miss M’s sleep pattern is still crappy and on top of that I am struggling to switch my brain off.   While my eyes close and I try to slow down my heart rate, my head is a bowl full of tropical fish, a buzzing hive of bees, a myriad of words racing, crashing, somersaulting about like a hoard of toddlers high on haribos.

Why is it that this simplest of things, this thing so vital to our well being, to our sanity, to our basic everyday functioning is so evasive at times?

I hate this.  I hate that it gives me spots, makes my contact lenses stick to my eyes and dries my skin, but most of all I hate that it turns me into a whingey little mard-arse. 

So erm, I’ll go, or you’ll want to slap me, honest.

    Those of us who have ever been sleep-deprived, we hear ya! It’s the pits. If a body is tired, it ought to cut back on hormone production (which must be energy intensive), not increase. Doesn’t work that way though.

    when i get enough sleep i become boring and unexciting. i thrive on sleep deprivation. it makes the walls all sparkly.

    but you should get some sleep. you’re quite mad enough *without* the sleep deprivation.

    Oh my poor Jo! Sleep deprivation is the worst! It eats at your insanity and wrecks you body as well. Really hope things level off soonly. ~hugs~

    Lack of sleep makes you think you are loosing your mind. If at all possible, try to take a nap sometime during the day. It will help. I am a great insomniac and need pills to sleep properly, but even then I sometimes don’t get enough sleep. Then I must sleep some during the day, otherwise my mind thinks I’m cracking up. Warm milk with honey helps before you go to sleep and a non snoring husband does too.
