Obama and the Singing Bear

Can I just say, I am so, so , so pleased that Obama got in.  It feels like there’s a little hope again.  Only time will tell, but hope is a good start.

And talking of starting, Christmas seems to be almost upon us and the very annoying and yet irresistible singing soft toy wars have begun.  I would like to share this one with you as it made me ’snort’ and Miss E got some perfectly timed leg movements in there.

Look, see;

Sighhhh, I am so proud.

I have a friend who actually likes Madonna. I wonder if she’s seen that thing?

Annoying singing toys are ubiquitous here as well. My step-mother collects them (the horror!)

And yesssss!! Obama!!! Now the real work begins. But at least we seem to be on a new and better track.

    Bwahahahahah!

They get more life like every year.

I’ve had nightmares about them coming to life and dancing and singing their way into our homes and murdering the lot of us. Wait…wasn’t that a Doctor Who episode? No…that was mannequins, wasn’t it?

Mie, I bet Madonna would turn in her grave, Oh wait, shes still going right? ;D

Susan, blimey, I bet Christmas is mad in her house, And yes, the work begins.

Kim yes it was mannequins, and have you seen the Angels episode yet? Scary.

Sybil, I know, but it’s been in the shops since August and I do ike a bit of cheese, heh heh. I didn’t buy it though. I promise.

It could be worse. I spent one hellish christmas with my in-laws who were all creased up – constantly – by one of those blasted singing fish. Mildly amusing the first time. 2 hours later and 70 renditions of whatever it was later, just plain BLXXDY ANNOYING! And 2 days later? I’ll let you work out for yourself how I felt.

My little one’s eyeing up the new, improved bloody Elmo. He got the first one when he was two and will not believe me when I tell him that at 5, he’s a tad too old. Arrgghh!

Sometime, somewhere, the spirit of Christmas has taken a wrong turn and became an over commercialized, cheap and tacky road side show. No, I am a heathen and I worship the tree, but I don’t like the way we throw money away at this holiday like we have it growing on the tree itself. A little less self indulgence would be more becoming and teach our children to not be so greedy. Sorry to be such a party pooper.

    Daryl, I think that’s doable. ;D

Sandi, I’ve got ia ll mapped out for her, hee hee.

Akela, it’s nice to feel optimistic isn’t it. :D

Expat Mum, we have managed to avoid Elmo, shiver. I hope you convince him something else would be much more fun. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. ;D

Butterfly-By you are right, and I promise we didn’t buy one. There is so much tat out there in the name of Christmas. But a little cheese is good for the soul occasionally. Only occasionally though.

Lindy she will and it will be wonderful. Miss M was a bit overwhelmed by it all at two, so we spread the prezzies out bit. But this year I think she’ll be ready for it big time, hee hee.
