Apparently we are getting more snow tonight. A big part of me (probably my bottom) is happy, so so happy, because I love waking up to that tell tale brightness outside my window. I love it when a fresh new coat of white has enveloped the ground.
I love that it hides the fact that our car needs washing.
I love that it covers all the leaves we didn’t sweep up over winter.
I love that it gives me an excuse to drink hot chocolate every night, and snuggle.
And I love that my kids want to go outside and run and leap and play. That they want to create stuff, snow angels, snow balls, snow men, snow dogs.
I love that it’s 7.30pm and we’re all inside, safe and warm. I can hear Misses E and M in the bath where their daddy has left them playing while he does half an hour on the tread mill. The washing machine is preparing the next round of warm clothes for tomorrow’s snowy onslaught. I’m sat, legs crossed, toes wrapped in soft stripey bed socks, a cushion on my knee with my laptop resting on top, and a cup of steaming hot tea by my side.
Life is so full at the moment and although I’m tired I think I’m actually doing ok. Having doubled my meds a couple of weeks ago, I’m experiencing a few side effects that mean I’m spending less time on the internet as it’s affecting my eyes and head, but I’m still having a life. The PMDD mood swings have had me high as a kite and down in a few deep holes, but I’m holding on and it’s not as bad as it’s been before so I feel hopeful in a weirdly calm way.
Hope you’re all well and I’ll be back to read soon, I am missing you, but I’m kind of enjoying having a bit of a breather too. You’ll forgive me though right, I mean, you wouldn’t want me to explode or anything? That would just be messy.

I would most definitely not want you to explode. Who would there be left to tell me I’m handsome and talented?
You paint a lovely picture, with your words that is.

Exploding is not an option … who would clean it up? Not me. No way.
And keep the snow there … we’ve had quite enough here, thank you.

I like waking up to fresh snow as well—as long as I don;t have to GO anywhere… which rarely happens. UGH.
Relax. Nobody’s exploding over here.

I love that it gives me the opportunity to teach my kids something new. It hadn’t occurred to me that they didn’t actually know how to make a snowman!
I love that it covers the big pile of dog poo that some considerate so-and-so let their dog deposit at the end of our drive! Hopefully he or she will be the one that rediscovers it with an errant foot just as it starts to thaw.
I love that even the most dowdy parts of our town are somehow transformed into something (almost) magical.
I love that you’re doing OK.

Glad you’re feeling better. Lovely snow! We just have…rain. They say it never rains in California, but actually it does sometimes and everyone freaks out.

yay for happiness-inducing snow! with happy thoughts like these, you almost don’t need drugs. (i mean the hot choc, kiddies and stuff. not the tiredness.)
almost.
