A Kid at a Wedding

Blog

Sometimes it’s hard work being a kid at a wedding, especially when the bride is your lovely Auntie.

I mean, there’s all the staying clean and looking cute stuff…

And the entertaining of the masses with your small kid and fluffy dog routine

Up the steps and down the steps, sighhhhh.

Seriously, it’s such a trial.

In fact, at times it all gets a bit much.

But I tell you something…I’d rather be a four year old at a wedding than an eight year old.

Why?

Well eight year olds get asked to write poems and read them out during the ceremony, and that’s just plain scary.

But my big sis?  She pulled it off.

And it made my Mummy and Daddy cry.

I can’t think why.  I mean, it’s a lovely poem, look;

Love

Love is care
Love is friends
Love is family

Love is happy
Love is smiles
Love is kindness

Love is manners
Love is hope
Love is love

by Miss E

Grown ups are weird aren’t they?

Love is manners! I love that! I’ve actually taught that to Emma, that using our manners is a way of showing people we love them. Brilliant girl all round, that Miss E. What a sweetie!

And poor Miss M looked quite discombobulated by the end of the evening, but the dress – just precious!

Aw, very sweet! The kids here have to read new years letters every year to their godparents. I’m so happy I didn’t grow up with that tradition!
