She’s a little Glowing Friend

Blog

Nic is my shining light tonight as she is getting me out for a chat and a chill and a few bevvies.

She doesn’t actually shine in the ‘glittery, blinding, useful in a powercut’ kind of way, as only superheros and vampires can do that, but she shines in the sparkly beautiful friend sort of way.
(Though I wouldn’t be surprised is she was a superhero as she is very cool.)

Thanks so much for the support everyone. I’ll fill you in soon. Last night I was so low but today some fresh air and sunshine and my beautiful girls have blown away the cobwebs a bit and I’m looking forward to a few drinks in the soft leather sofa and flatteringly dimmed lights of a local bar.

It’s funny as it’s a place I used to frequent when a mere whipper snapper. Bands used to play there regularly and I felt very at home in my Doc Martens and black dresses. Now it’s a bit posher but not in a snooty way, I mean, I live in Mansfield come on, but in that it attracts ‘nice’, ‘clean’ people who aren’t just out to get pi**ed, have a kebab and snog something with a heartbeat, preferably a human.

Sometimes you need that loud, dancing night out, but at other times sedate yet intense, is perfect.
I’ll have a few for you lot too ok?

xxxx

Oh, and there’s a song reference in the title, another old favourite. If you guess it I will send you a gift in the form of weather.

I do hope you had a great time. I’ve been thinking of you….and worried for you….and hope you know I’m here no matter what. I know you will talk when you can…or when you want to. I just wish I could be of more support.

All I can say is it’s a funny time for most people but you are still a shining star.

I have a friend who’s that sort of friend for me. Restful, insightful, bright and loving. The world would be a sweeter place if everyone had such a friend, I think.

Bother. I knew that music reference, and I NEVER know them. So I was all excited about being the only one, but lots of others got there before me.
