Go go Aveeno and Purple People

Tonight, for the sake of my blog, I will be bathing.

I’m not a stinky old troll, honest, but I’ve been sent some fabulous freebies test products by the fab folks at Shiny Red on behalf of Aveeno, in the hope that I will do them justice in a review.

I’m kind of excited as it looks like lovely stuff and from what I’ve read it could turn a walnut into a peanut, a sharpei into a greyhound, or even The Rolling Stoned into McFly.  I’m talking soothing and smoothing and moisturizing here people, in case any of you were a little confused.  Or at least more confused than usual.  ;D

Tomorrow I hope to delight and amaze you with some fabulous before and after shots.  In fact you may fear you have arrived at the wrong blog when you’re faced with such a young slip of a thing instead of the usual bewrinkled old bird.

So, I’m going to go bathe in some of the ”…naturally active ingredients which are carefully selected from thousands of other due to their exceptional efficacy and safety profile”  then rub a load all over my skin before I totter off to the land of nod.

Right now though, if you’ve got a minute I’d love you to go and visit the inspirational and gorgeous Crystal Jigsaw.  Today is International Epilepsy Day, and Crystal tells her own compelling story of her experiences with epilepsy and its effect on her life and the lives of those around her.   As a sign of awareness and support folks all over the globe will be wearing purple today.

Crystal is wearing a purple jumper and I myself have big fluffy purple socks on.  Nice.

NB  If you don’t have any purple clothing you could simply paint your nails purple, or balance a grape on your shoulder.  Sighhh, you can thank me later.

I don’t think that counts Tim, you need to do your nails.

The Aveeno products are great – I reviewed them a week or so ago on my blog. Loved the cream and in fact have just bought some replenishments.

Is this the way it’s going to go then? People are actually going to do adverts on their blogs? I don’t know how I feel about that. I suppose you need to earn some money, otherwise I don’t see the sense in it. I am not going to trust in a product more simply because a blogger advertises it on her blog, that would be silly, since I don’t know the circumstances of the arrangements. It feels like commercial television that’s interrupted with ads all the time. Sorry, I’m coming down on you too hard, aren’t I? I just don’t think it’s a good idea, Jo.

Did a purple post too …

I love Aveeno products … especially the anti-itch cremes .. also they make this shower oil stuff you can wash with and it helps ease winter dry skin itch …

I love Aveeno. My little one gets really dry skin in the winter and put their oatmeal baby bath stuff in the water for him. I’m not sure he likes sitting on all the crunchy bits, but he scratches a lot less!

Lilacs do you know I never even heard of it till now?? Mad!

Tim that definitely counts, especially if you flash it at passing taxis.

Sybil I love it. I’m so glad. I’d feel guilty slating it, hee hee. And I’m sure that purpleness counts somehow. x

Rosie you will not. I look like a tiny newborn baby. Ok not that tiny…;D

Singleparentdad, that comment made me snort young man. It was most unladylike. :D

    Potty, more snorting. :D

Kim, it’s really nice isn’t it? I was so so glad. Can’t wait for another bath later.

Zerilda I knew you were a purple sock lady. Yay. And Ptesco do call them black don’t they. They are so not black. More of a plum colour. And plums are grape coloured. Get it right Ptesco. Tsk.

More than just a Mother I will read yours. And I can see myself buying some. They’re great aren’t they? :D

Irene, you really made me think. I didn’t mean this to be like an ad, but thought more about the free goodies and that I could have fun with writing about them. I promise I didn’t receive any money for doing this, and if I ever did I would make that clear in a post. I would also never expect people to buy stuff because of my opinion, and I wouldn’t write a post if I wasn’t allowed to be honest, which is something I always am. It’s good to get feedback and you know I value what you say immensely as I see you as a friend. I’m not saying I won’t write anymore reviews, but I will think carefully about what I write about and how often. Hope that’s ok. :P

Daryl, I’m really interested in the itchy stuff as Miss E gets so itchy with her eczema. I wonder if it would help??? And yay for the purple post.

Expat Mum you just answered my query. Miss E gets so itchy. I must get some of that.

Is it just me…or do you sometimes happen to glance down at your pins and realise that instead of elle macphearson limbs you’ve got scaly, unrecognisable middle-aged legs?? I mean…how did that happen? :)
