When we arrive at the park, Miss M and cousin ME stood absolutely still for a moment. Eyes wide, so much to do, so much to see. There was the usual stuff, swings, slides, climbing frames but there was also the musical planks, the enormous balancing bridge that needed about 20 people to make it work, and a slip line.
So what did our two intrepid 4 year olds go for?
Erm, well, the four squares of reconstituted old tyre obviously.

They’ll be stealing tyres off cars next!

We had to drag the kiddiwinks round Ikea and I must say they handled it with valour (certainly better than I did, I only went ‘cos I needed to return £60’s worth of goods and even the allure of 250 tealights for 20p has lost it’s sparkle). Anyway, Ikea, yes well we had to eat there and being smug bought them the finest in organic beveridges, they then proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon filling the empty of juice bottles with water, dried herbs and marbles to create “pet habitats” (pet shark habitats to be accurate)…”because we haven’t got any mummy and it’s all your fault”. LOVELY SUNNY DAY KIDS…play in the garden, bikes scooters…..when I was your age blah blah blah

Of course! They always pick the simplest things to amuse them, don’t they? Why play with the toy when the box it’s packaged in is FAR more interesting?!

of course. You just never know what is going to be the hit????? children baffle me.
Still thinking of you my dear! ♥

My son happily played with a piece of string a couple of weeks ago, then with a stick for an hour. I’m giving up on buying expensive toys (like that will ever happen again)

My girls spent all day Friday playing with a handful of marbles. It’s the simple things, isn’t it?

fun …

Of course they would go for the most simple thing. The rest as probably too overwhelming. But do tell me they eventually did play with the other equipment too.
Hope you are well. Thinking about you.
Irene, who changed her name.

This is what I changed my name to.

SPD yep. ;D
Rosie, I bet it was them that stuck a nail in my mum’s tyre today. Tsk.
Katherine, I love that they did that though. I mean, where did that come from? Wicked.
Erin oh my Bob yes.
Corey, thanks lovely. I’ll be back, you’ll see. Kisses. x
Half Baked me too. (Giving up on buying expensive toys, not you know, playing with string. That would be weird.)
Kim it is. My kids love marbles too. They’re so pretty aren’t they? Hugs.
Daryl, that’s what I thought.
Irene I love the new name. It makes me think of butterflies and silk stockings. And they played on the other stuff a bit but a lot of it was either too old or two young for them. They had fun though.
