I am so proud of me.
Maybe its sad, maybe it’s girlie, but I am proud.
You see, today I bought a new TV stand.
For 3 weeks my TV has perched on an Ikea box table that was actually outside the house when we came here. (I cleaned it and de-spidered it, I promise.)
But no longer.
AND…
Even though I put it together myself it looks just like the one in the catalogue.
Look.

And this is mine.

I’ll admit theirs is lit better, but mine has The Apprentice on it which I am watching right now, and I made it myself using my new screwdriver as a screwdriver, and also as a hammer as I haven’t got one of those yet.
Admit it, girls can do anything. You knew it was true.

you go girl. I know how you feel. I put together Sugar’s wooden kitchen…and felt like a QUEEN!

I am so stinkin’ proud of you! Everything I’ve put together seems to go horribly wrong. Like the tv cabinet whose one door doesn’t shut flush and the art easel that wobbles in a worrying fashion.
You? Rock.

It’s not sad, and it’s not girlie. Anyone who can put one of those bastards together should be applauded.

I am so proud of you, too!!!
GIRL POWER!!!!

I salute you, Jo.
And so does every other bloke in the world.
We knew you could do it.
April 30th, 2009 at 1:02 am
Good for you Jo. (And how are your nails? Mine are always a mess after stuff like that…)
April 30th, 2009 at 2:11 am
You’re my hero, I so couldn’t do that.
April 30th, 2009 at 2:28 am
There’s no stopping us women, providing we have the right tools. Make sure you have some sort of toolkit, Jo. That way you won’t ever be a helpless female.
April 30th, 2009 at 2:40 am
I think yours looks just as good. I think theirs just has wheels on it.
April 30th, 2009 at 3:54 am
You made The Apprentice with a screwdriver and a hammer, that is impressive.
April 30th, 2009 at 6:52 am
Ooh I’m very impressed. Yours looks better than theirs anyway.!! x
April 30th, 2009 at 7:47 am
I misread the title as “Queen of Flapjack” first off.
Very impressive.
April 30th, 2009 at 8:10 am
Brilliant!
And if you ever need a hammer, you can always use the heel of your shoe .. I do it all the time …
April 30th, 2009 at 8:38 am
You really are rocking this new house stuff!
I have mastered the electric screwdriver, can hammer enough to hang pictures, but have eluded by drilling mastery.
Go girl.

I built all my stuff, have my own tools. MG has her own set of tools, and Mustang Man knows and has seen how capable we both are. I knew you could do it, Jo! Girls are able to do it all…
April 30th, 2009 at 10:00 am
As someone who can barely change a light bulb, I am deeply impressed. Well done.
April 30th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
Yours is definitely better than the “made up” one. Really impressed, girl power exists!

Bravo – that assembling thing is always much harder than the instructions say. Have a lovely weekend watching your favourites, xv.
