A Movie Question

Blog

If you had the chance to receive a complimentary Blu Ray DVD Player and a selection of fabulous Disney videos in exchange for writing your opinion about them with honesty and humour, would you?

I mean, say you were a single mum with two young children who just happen to be huge Disney fans, and you were having to tighten your belt until your house is sold and you are well enough to perhaps return to some part time work, would you?

I would.

In fact, I have.

I’m seeing it as a chance to stretch my writing skills, involve my kids more in something that is pretty important to me, ie blogging, and to get some fun family time with my girls as we cuddle up with popcorn, icecream and maybe pringles (though not all at once).  And ok the free blu-ray player and discs came into it a little teeny tiny bit too.  At least I’m honest right?

So, over the next few weeks, squidged between my regular posts, there will be some open, honest and possibly at times quite silly reviews from myself, Miss E and Miss M.  I’m really looking forward to watching these films with my two little girls and to seeing if I, a true technophobe, can actually use my player to it’s full potential.   I also want to see if Blu Ray is as good as I’ve heard.

So how did I come by this fabulous opportunity?  Well it’s all down to the Think Parents network, a group developed by digital-outlook, who are creating a voice for the everyday UK parent blogger.   They represent a variety of respected companies and campaigns including the UK ‘Tales of The Road’ safety adverts, but are also ambassadors for Disney Blu-ray, hence the free Blu-Ray player player and discs.  If you’re interested in joining the network please follow this link.

If not, I hope you enjoy our reviews.   Watch this space.  The Beaufoix Cinema will be open soon.  Maybe I’ll call it The JOdeon…

..or maybe not.

If Siskel and Ebert use a rating system of thumbs (two thumbs up; 1 up, 1 down; 2 thumbs down), I can only imagine the BeauFoix family using a bum’s up, bum’s down approach….

Can I borrow this post, might need to genetically alter it a bit, but still on the money, or free Blu-ray anyway.

And, have you seen that self-proclaimed King Dan has been calling us losers? We need to get him you know.

You are definitely NOT losing with free stuff coming your way! Sounds like great fun with the girls – and an income to boot. Why not?
I look forward to the reviews.

Corey I think it’s because blogging is relatively new over here and people are realising that it actually has value and power. It’s a good place to be. :D

Daryl it is, I’m so excited.

Lilacs it’s a great opportunity as my kids benefit from it too. I love that.

Lee that would be perfect for us, hee hee. We have a few other ideas too, but bums up is fabulous. :D

Maureen thank you. It’s great as I think E especially is at the right age to really give an honest opinion, and M will just be cute and possibly quite random which always makes me laugh. :D

SPDad I think we might need to have a word with young Daniel. ;D

Dan that’s so immature. Tsk. Oh, and rasssssssssspppp.

Thumbelina thank you. Young Daniel has a lot to learn. Sighhhh. (Actually, he’s cool but shhhhh, don’t tell him, his head will swell and it’s already gargantuan.)

SPDad, tis done my dear. We can so take on Dan the man. ;D

Contrary to what you may expect of me, I think this is a great opportunity for you and the kids, because you’re actually getting something out of it, while you can go ahead and give an honest opinion, which I assume you will and the kids will certainly, being kids and knowing no better. So, go for it girl and have fun doing it. I’m no Disney movie fan, but I’m sure a lot of your readers are for the sake of their children, so you will be doing them a service. :)

Hi there, I have been reading your blogs, they are VERY amusing! Are you a single parent? I see no mention of your other half from the posts I have read….if you are would you please contact me? We run a parenting site for single parents http://www.onespace.org.uk and we would love to link to your blog.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, I’d do it, Jo. I think, also in the balance of fairness and all things reasonable, you need an extra adult and five-year-old child to help review the films. We’re available most week nights. I’ll bring the popcorn!
