It’s 3am.
Shhhhhhhhh.
I am all alone in the house having returned from the lovely Shell’s 30th birthday bash a little worse for wear. Misses E and M are at their Daddy’s house tucked up with teddies and hopefully having sweet dream possibly about ’smiling yet serious when it matters’ penguins or dancing pineapple chunks taking over the world but only on a Tuesday.
I don’t know if it’s an age thing but my ears are ringing like a very ringy bell thing, and I am supping cold milk from Miss E’s Camp Rock mug and partaking of lonely chocolate cake that felt all unwanted in my fridge till I returned to end its torment.
I never knew chocolate cake on top of vodka and shots could be so good.
Sighhhhhh.
I love Nottingham.
I don’t know if it’s true of all cities, but it’s a place where anything goes. The men in the space suits, nun’s outfits and India Jones get up – no one batted an eyelid.
The girls dressed in cave gear complete with bone necklaces and big hair, blended in with the crowd, and the man dressed as a tortoise went unnoticed as he sidled up to the bar and nicked off with a peach schnapps and a pint of strongbow. (Ok, I made that bit up.)
There is something so lovely about coming home after a good night with good people. It’s like an overall feeling of well being, of benevolence, and you know it will last till morning as while alcohol may have fanned the flames the spark was in each and every person who chose to share an evening with you.
You cannot beat friends.
Even if the music is not really your thing. Even if the crowd is dense and dizzying, when you’re with peope who care you feel like you can do and be anything.
I hope that feeling stays till tomorrow.
..but if not, I have resolve.

I’m glad you’re wrapped in good feelings. I hope you have no hang over in the morning. It sounds like you had a perfectly lovely evening and that you were more than ready for one of those too. No, you can’t beat best friends and your’s is a good bunch. Take good care of the hair of the dog. Lots of juice and coffee.

A wonderful spontaneous post Jo. So glad you had a good night. I am jealous. My post today is about the dullness of pregnancy abstinence. Bring on the booze in five months time – i can’t wait!

There seems to be a rather cakey theme developing in your blog.

You do say the most beautiful things gorgeous. I love Nottingham too and miss my old friends that I left behind many moons ago. I think I might have to come up some time soon so you can have a re-run of tonight’s events. So sorry not to have been around recently…I’ve been busy conjuring up some magic plans, which of course include you. Yes I’ve tagged you…and it starts today. Do pop over and have a look and join in the party
Hee hee, should be fun x

Sometimes, Jo, resolve is the greatest attribute.

Read it before but didn’t comment as I was catching up. Read it again and it is just as good and spontaneous and makes me feel warm all over.
Congrats on POTD!
