I Can’t Fail

Blog

I’m a bit scared.

You see, I have made a promise, a pledge, a commitment.

But there’s a catch.

No I’ve not sold my soul to a malingering monkey disguised as Elizabeth Taylor.

And I haven’t agreed to shave my head in aid of homeless alcoholic shrews

And I definitely won’t be dunking my biscuits in a bucket of squid

But, if I fail, if I fall in the face of adversity, then I will allow Miss M, that is Miss M my 4 year old daughter, to do my make up, and will then post a picture of it on my blog.

Bear in mind this is the child who thinks more is more.  When she crayons a picture she tends to go for the multi-coloured look, and erm, realism isn’t her thing, so I could be in trouble here people.

So what have I pledged to do?

Well, having been tagged by the fabulous Almost Mrs Average over at the Rubbish DIet, I have joined a merry band of parent bloggers in supporting Recycle week 22nd-27th June.

You can see my pledge by clicking here…

It may sound an easy task, except at my new house I don’t have a composter, and I’m not sure I’ll be getting one anytime soon or where I’ll put one, so, I’ll be composting by storing my fresh fruit and veg waste, tea bags, lolly sticks, gerbil bedding etc in a lovely box, then ferrying them over to my parents house to feed their garden beast.

Nice right?

The lovely Almost Mrs Average says:

“to spread the word about Recycle Week amongst the British Mummy Blogger network whose talented members are always up for supporting a good cause. Who knows, maybe I can turn them into Mummy Garbloggers too.

So today I am launching a new meme tag, with the challenge to see how many of the 300-or-so BMB members can sign up to a Recycle Week pledge over the next two weeks as well as blog about it!

And the rules are easy:

1. Visit www.recyclenow.com and sign up to one of the pledges to waste less.

2. Share details of your pledge on your own blog.

3. Chose five other bloggers, who will also be up for a bit of recycling fun.

4. Come back to this post at The Rubbish Diet and share your pledge with others, by placing a link to your pledge in the comments field.

5. Optional – as a thank you to all involved The Rubbish Diet will be publishing a British Mummy Bloggers’ Recycle Week carnival on Monday 29th June. To be included, simply submit your favourite post revealing the progress of your pledge by Saturday 27th June – email to karen[at]therubbishdiet[dot]co[dot]uk.”

Seems pretty simple right?

SO, I am tagging:

1.  Mr Dan the man over at All That Comes With It who is looking for volunteers for his next big walk in aid of the Joseph Salmon Trust.

2. The lovely Emily at Maternal Tales from the South Coast

3. The fabulous Laura from Are We Nearly There Yet Mummy

4.  The gorgeous Tasha (Coding Mummy) at Wahm-Bam

and

5.  The blumming marvellous Tara at Sticky FIngers

And even if you’re not tagged, if you can, take the time to make a pledge, you probably won’t regret it…

Hee hee.

P.S  Don’t forget to enter my competition to win cycling safety gear by leaving a comment here.

and, if you’ve been following the brilliant writing of xbox4nappyrash but haven’t popped in for a while, go here for an even bigger smile than usual.

Dan, when we do that walk, I may have to kick your but.

Xbox, my pleasure mate. I want to read the book when it’s out. It so should be a book. You can write it during the night feeds.

    Phew!
Are you on hyper pills or what? You’re going at a 100mph! I can’t keep up.
Just done a tag at mine – but it was much more sedate and required much less effort than this one.
Looking forward to seeing your make up done by a 4 year old!
What? Oh. You were planning on coming through on the pledge. Hm.
Wassat? Don’t I have any faith in you?
Course I do! I know you could do it but might just fall short to let Miss M have some fun. Go on. Why not? It’s what mummys do isn’t it?
    ;0)

That malingering monkey disguised as Elizabeth Taylor drove past my house today and waved.

Not sure about composting as we are moving in just over a week. I may have to pledge do something alternative.

For you Jo – I’ll do anything. E-mail with pledge not come through yet so I’ll comment with it later when it does. In the meantime, I’m just off to do my post….

Hope you don’t manage to pull it off (awful aren’t I)?? Just want to see the photo…Can’t you just post it anyway – as a celebration when you do succeed? Now there’s an idea… x

You have given me a kick up the arse, I mean inspired me. Am starting small myself. Maybe blogging really can change the world. Have given you a plug (don’t know what etiquette is here, being new, whether you go up to people and say that or if they know already…). Any way, your blog posts are a happy blip in my day.
