By the way, don’t bother to waste money on washable night-time pants. I bought 2 pairs (16 quid) at one point, different brands to see which worked best, and they were both hopeless. Soaking bed each time. Unless things have come on a lot since then, which was, I suppose, 4 years ago.

I have a child who, when accused of peeing within seconds of me putting on his night-time pull-up, simply grinned an angelic grin, and confessed to liking the warm feeling.

They’re so DARN EXPENSIVE, though!

Same child was, age 3, dry at night for 2 weeks, with the help of a sticker chart with a Bionicle at the end of it. He then claimed that unless he could get a Bionicle every 2 weeks, it wasn’t worth the effort, and he was going to go back into pull-ups. With the idiocy that is parenting, instead of saying “no way Jose”, we decided we didn’t want to make a big deal about it all, for the sake of the older brother (shared bedroom) who was age 7 and still not dry, so we said “OK then”, thinking we’d call his bluff and he wouldn’t really. That decision cost us – literally – another 3 years of expensive pull-ups.

Still, if that is the worst decision I make, as a parent, I guess I haven’t done too badly.
