Tamiflu Does its Stuff

Blog

We seem to be lurching from one disaster to another this year, but Miss M is doing great, in fact she ventured into the garden today to play with next door’s cat with her big sister.

Miss E so far is symptom free, and M’s temperature is pretty much normal so I think if she gets another good night then tomorrow we’ll be clear.  She has to take the tamiflu for 5 days so through till Wednesday, then I suppose I’ll have to see if she stays symptom free.

But I’m feeling very hopeful.

Kn*ckered, but hopeful.

Thanks for all your good wishes and messages.  It means a lot.

Awww – I am so glad to hear they’re getting better. Really. Having sick kids really does wear you out!

Oh good! Phew, that’s a load off.

Off-topic question: Is kn*ackered a bad word? Why the asterisk?

Scary. Fingers crossed that everyone else stays symptom free. Swine flu not hit over here yet, but I don’t think they have tamiflu and I’m already getting a bit stressy about what happens when it does arrive… I think you were most calm in the circumstances! x

Lovely to see that picture after the worry of the previous post. I was thinking of you and Miss M last night as I was kissing the cool foreheads of my two when they were asleep. I’m glad to hear she is getting better.(Handsome cat too!)

Do you remember (you won’t, you’re too young) when Tammy was considered a very trendy girl’s name? I think it started because Barbie had a little sister Tammy (but I might be wrong about that – I was never into Barbie, didn’t own even one). Anyway, there was a high street chain called Tammy Girl, and a magazine called Tammy. You can see where this is going. Yup. It was a team of researchers from my era who made the break-through discovery in the lab, and they just couldn’t resist calling it Tamiflu.

Glad you are through the worst – with one at least, and maybe the other has an immunity. Hard to believe she wouldn’t have caught it by now if not.

Erin – I wouldn’t have said knackered was a bad word. At least I hope not as it’s one of the only ones I allow myself in front of the 6 year old. Not that anyone knows what I mean over here.

Nothing worse than having the little ones ill and you not feeling so hot yourself, is there? They look so sweet in the garden with the kitty…hope you are all recovered and in fine fettle very very soon!!!

You were very lucky that she got over it so well and quickly. The kid is made of strong stuff. I didn’t look so good there for a while. Thank goodness for happy endings.

I haven’t been around the blogosphere much recently so I’m sorry I didn’t know you were all struggling with the dreaded swine flu. It’s the nights that are so awful, when their temperatures are so high and it’s a struggle not to panic.

Anyway I’m glad to hear Miss M is doing so much better.
