Almost Like a Snail

Today I am almost…just a little bit… like a snail.

I don’t mean that I am slow.

Or slimy.

I can’t climb up high walls.

I don’t hang around in people’s gardens and worry their plants.

No really, I don’t.

But I am like a snail

Because I now have a home I can carry…

I could even probably wear it if I wanted to.

So I am like a snail.

A lucky, lucky snail.

Yay.

Myself and the Beaufoix babes are heading for The Big Chill this week, which means I have had to invest in some accommodation for us.  We put it up in the garden today and Misses E and M already seem at home.

This is the start of something new for me and my girls.  A future of adventure I hope.  Of flushed cheeks, starry skies and soft, warm, lamp light smiles.

I can’t wait.

If you’re a snail, looks like Little Miss is a pink caterpillar! Did you ever see the sleeping bags with legs on the Apprentice? They were like Michelin Man suits, and I so wanted one. That, and one of those huge mono-slippers you see advertised in the weekend sections of the papers…

Now that looks like a pretty big snail shell to me! A little warm carpeting would certainly not come amiss! Have fun Sweeties! Enjoy the great outdoors and the great indoors will seem all the better for it!

You are indeed a lucky snail (that’s a sentence I hadn’t anticipated writing). Camping is truly wonderful – even if it rains you can sit indoors feeling cosy while the rain drums on the roof not getting in. Assuming of course that it doesn’t get in. I have one piece of advice, though, and that is to take earplugs. If other campers in the vicinity of your tent feel like playing Smoke on the Water until 4 a.m. with bongo accompaniment you will thank me for this titbit.

Excited to see how it goes – I wanted to take Little H to Latitude this year but couldn’t quite bring myself to do more than think about it. Good luck!
