A Rude Awakening

A few drinks.
A dance.
A night bus.
A deep undisturbed sleep.
A phone call.
A shower.
A goodbye to a friend.
A hello to two little girls.
A cuddle.
Another cuddle.
A tickle.
An itch.
A quick examination.
An expletive.
A nit comb.

It’s not my Fault

It’s not my fault.
Honestly, I had absolutely no choice in the matter.
I mean, can I help it if a large-for-his age pygmy gorilla picks me up, whips me over his shoulder, takes me out and forces me to drink copious amounts of Peruvian sieve coloured vodka and dance to cheesy retro music two nights in [...]

Have you seen my silly?

I’ve lost my silly.
I think it may have eloped with a shoe salesman or possibly a heron.
In case you’re wondering what a ’silly’ looks like, mine is kind of soft and squishy and varies in colour from hot pink to a cool soothing duck egg blue depending on mood and temperature, and whether or not [...]

Being a Mummy

Tonight I am wrapping prezzies.  Miss E turns 9 tomorrow.  Of course I don’t actually look old enough to have a 9 year old…cough…but never the less 9 years old she will be.
Miss E has grown up so much this past year.  She’s reached that ’slightly sarky but still sweet with it’ stage, and has [...]

Missing

I cannot write.
I’m putting it down to hormones, knackeredness, having a ton of stuff to do, and the fact that while I was away I missed my husband.
I still know it’s right we’re not together anymore, but I suppose I’m grieving for happier times.  For the sharing we did, the laughing.
Going to The Big Chill [...]

Jo Whiley – My World in Motion, a book for the 90s indie kid?

If all has gone to plan, I am at The Big Chill Festival with Misses E and M.  So while I’m having my own musical interlude, I thought I’d share another one (of sorts) with you.
As I’ve mentioned before, oohh about 8 million times, I was a 90s kid.
A 90s kid as in I was [...]

She perches languidly atop brightly coloured foliage.  Shades of pink, white and south sea island blue. Long, soft, slightly awkward in appearance, she exudes an air of contentment, of comfort. Occasionally she lose her grip and slips a little, only to wiggle and lurch her way back up to the sweet spot.  Then she settles [...]

I’m keeping my fingers crossed. It aches a little bit but it will be the only way I can post from The Big Chill and I really want to as it will be a practice for Hadrian’s Walk next year.
I doubt I’ll be adding pics as I’ve not worked out if I can do [...]
