I remember the Baps at Bernie’s Inn my boys were so fond of…hard little missiles of bread that if launched at the head could do permanent brain damage…now, sweating baps would have been quite painful, I fear! I adore Counsin ME, by the way!

I don’t know if you remember the book A Doll’s House by Rumer Godden from when you were small, but one of the dolls dusts to ‘clear the cobs’ (because she thinks they’re what make the cobwebs).

LOL…That brings back memories of when I lived in Nottingham. At work, we always had “the cob lady” deliver our sandwiches…Her hairstyle was in the shape of a cob too, so aptly named…

Sweating cobs! LOL, I bet she did too after a hard days work x

You must be from the same part of the world as me. Cob is an odd word for a bread roll, I’ll grant you, but surely not as strange as “barmcake” or “muffin” as folk in my my adopted home call them.
