Miss E Makes A Mountain out of…

Blog

You remember not so long ago, Miss E had a school project where for one of the tasks she had to build a mountain?

Well we finally got it back.  Is it not a thing of beauty?

mountain e

See the gigantic goat and the tiny tiny skier?  I know, it looks uncannily real.

The thing is though, it’s bluming huge!!

Enormous even.

Seriously, if there was a goat in my house right now it would be quite at home, (NB There isn’t a goat in my house right now).

So I have a problem.

Where the hell do you put a large paper mache mountain?  I mean, it’s not exactly subtle is it?

Tsk.

And Miss E has informed me there is to be another large project in the very near future.

Keep your fingers crossed it’s not entitled, “Oceans of the World” or “Enormous great big skyscrapers bigger than your house that I have known.”  Because if it’s either of them I am buggered.

The great thing about being divorced is ….that you get a lovely new home for all the really biiiiiig projects. Surely Daddy would be proud to have this in his abode? x

hmm, why not turn it into a volcano (with coke and the mint trick), then all it will be suitable for it the bin, but you will have real fun doing it

HA! Hence the reason we no longer have formal looking dining room. More like a classroom over here. It is indeed most beautiful. Now display it and admire it for a while and then cut a little portion from the top and do the volcano experiment! LOL! Actually Sandi’s idea there sounds good too. Could you paint it with some sort of water proof sealer and put it in the garden????

These things are a problem. You can’t put them in the bin (at least not straightaway…) but where can you display them?

I have a fruit bat (made out of a toilet roll inside, felt, wire and tights) in a wardrobe, and a barracuda (made out of a kitchen roll inside, masking tape and lots of silver spray paint) hanging on the sitting room wall. I didn’t plan to hang it on the wall, and it was definitely temporary, but it seems to have become a bit permanent. Better than the three china ducks, I suppose.

It’s very nice of course and I can see the goat, but I’m sure I saw you wearing it in town the other day?
Do tell me I’m wrong, there was something else on your head.

I think you should put a few Xmas trees on it, plus some Carol singers and kids with sledges – voila, a Xmas centrepiece!
