v glad you popped your pancake cherry! i found making them on pancake day v momentous for some reason. silly as i've made them a zillion times before. but this was the first time i'd made them for my little boy and his dad. and as they both sat and ate them and said 'deeeeelicious' i felt about as warm and gooey as your pancake drenched in golden syrup. (i'm more of a lemon and sugar person myself....)

ps glad you felt like blogging again.

Hi veryanniemary, sounds like they've every chance of keeping that tradition going. Squirty batter does sound scary though.

I'm a 3rd generation tosser! Nothing like keeping it in the family, my girls can all toss too - so I guess that's 4th generation. We live on the other side of the pond though, so I figure my girls will have to work hard to keep the tradition going with their kids etc. They will be flying in the face of American pancakes and American batter that you can buy in a squirty can - how scary is that?!

Heh heh Sparx, that is true. And watching it dribble in tiny thin threads between the spoon and your mouth. :D

Thanks lovely. Hope you're having a fab time in Blighty. If you're ever near Notts pop in and have a cuppa with the boy and the man. I loved the old tin too. I can always remember prizing the end off with the end of a spoon.

They were really yummy Angels and Urchins. That spotty tablecloth has seen everything from pancakes to play dough. I love it. It's from The Token House in Nottingham, one of my favourite shops ever.
