Lovely gorgeous and ’smells a bit like chocolate’ Miss Tara of the Sticky Fingers has set ‘colour‘ as this week’s gallery theme.
Having been inspired by a very talented and clever lady, my friend Kerry, fabulous wife of fabulous blogger Dan (All That Comes With It), I have taken my camera shopping today. (Yes I found the charger – hooray). Kerry has her own Photo Blog where she displays some amazing pics all captured on her iphone. She is seriously good. I have a lot to learn, but I had fun.

I know it’s a bit fuzzy but I kind of like that, and the colours are yummy. They make me think of opal fruits starbursts.

Sunset in, erm, a wok?
So yep, I cheated and gave you two pics, which made me think, ‘hell if you’re going to give ‘em two, why not chuck another on at ‘em? Because, well, until I found my charger this was the picture I was going to use for today’s theme, and even though the pics above are very colourful, I wanted to share this one with you because I love it.

This is Miss M and her cousin ME at M’s family party for her Birthday in January. M picked her own outfit. No really, otherwise she’d have been dressed beautifully in the top and skirt that match her glittery shrug, but instead, she is dressed beautifully in glittery shrug, pink doggy T’shirt and if memory serves me well, a red skirt dotted with purple.
Of course this ensemble wouldn’t be complete without a mass of carefully placed hair slides creating quite an interesting fringed effect. Add to that the accessory of a beautifully embellished cousin, and you get the perfect representation of colour. Miss M.
My 5 year old is generally a wash of colour, a myriad of hues, seldom matching, often varying in shade and texture, but almost always bright and sparkly and vivid. Like her big sister my lovely Miss E, she brings colour to my life, though hers tends to be a little bit less co-ordinated than her big sisters. Maybe the ability to put together what most would consider ‘an outfit’ will come with age, but if not, I think she’ll carry it off anyway.

Haha! They look like human rainbows!

Don’t they? I love it.

Lovely lovely Jo. I can just imagine you around the supermarket snapping away at the veggie isle. Brilliant.
And I think the multiple clip thing is very much a rite of passage for girls. My daughter does it to me then makes me go downstairs ‘to show daddy’. Sigh!

Hee hee, I have a pic of myself and my friend ‘made over’ by Miss E at a similar age. Our hair looks very similar to that actually.

I love Miss M’s look, esp. the hair slides!. My little girl is a colour explosion too. She says “These clothes match mummy, because blue is beautiful and so is orange”. Can’t argue with that!

Nope, I couldn’t argue with that either. “Colour Explosion” is the perfect description for Miss M. Brilliant.

The pictures are really something, lots of colours, and that’s good, I love colours. And the girls look adorable. I noticed they have lots of pinstripe, because they wanted to look good for the borthday party. That’s simply adorable

Ioana thanks. It was really funny when they came downstairs. I had to hide my giggles. They were very proud of themselves.

I like the pepper one particularly

I like that one too Dan. It’s all Kerry’s fault, her pics are just amazing.

I am loving the hair slide effect lol x
My little girl has very definite ideas about what she likes to wear and they are usually the complete opposite of what I suggest – if it’s like this at aged seven, I am dreading the teen years!

Me too Magic Mummy. Miss E is 9 and is getting really piccy, and M is very certain abut what se likes and dislikes, hee hee. I’m sure I wasn’t like that at her age but it’s good to have your own mind right?? Gulp. ;D

Lovely post with fab pictures! I like the pepper one best – it’s all shiny and lovely.
I am also pleased to see that it’s not just my daughter that tries to wear every single one of her hair ornaments at the same time.
March 18th, 2010 at 5:57 am
Thanks Barbara, and nope, both my daugters have done that. Miss M has also done it with clothes.

I had to skip about 30 posts and jump to yours to see your entry and I love it!
Just one thought…you could be nurturing Britain’s future stylist there! I think the doggy t shirt works very well with glitter AND adore the metal fringe look
Seriously – Miss M is gorgeous and the peppers are brill.

Lovely colours. Those flowers are beautiful. And wow….my daughters have never done that with their hair clips! I’ll have to recommend it, awww they’re so sweet.

I love the peppers too – they could be in a foodie magazine. Did you get some funny looks when you were snapping them in the supermarket?
March 18th, 2010 at 5:28 pm
I LOVE those peppers!!!!

You can never have too many hair clips!
You might want to consider this tip from my 6 year old. A little glitter can turn your whole day around. Bring it on, sister.

Lovely photos. I keep meaning to take my camera with me to the local farmer’s market but am always forgetting. Maybe your gorgeous photos will remind me!
