Nobody thought it could happen. I mean, who really believes in them anyway? Yes you can read about them, see pictures, some people even claim to have spoken to one, but they’re always a bit of an enigma; living on the edges of reality. You can grasp an essence but you can’t know if what you grasp is real. If they’re a person or a persona. I suppose it’s a kind of faith thing, and if you choose to speak to the none believers about them you risk laughter, cruel mocking words, pity even.
And yet..

…here they are. Or at least here are some of their, erm, muses.

The ‘Greater Spotted, Multi Limbed, Ergonomically Balanced, Blog Sprogs’, aka the offspring of the beautiful @tara_cain, the blumming marvellous @muddynosugar and Madame La Pomme de Terre @rosiescribble, and myself, as well as the mini blog sprogs belonging to gorgeous smiley @porridgebrain, fabulous and yummy @cosmicgirlie and the lovely lovely (hopefully we’ll get a chance to talk more next time) @BumblingTweets. And I have to say ladies, seriously, our kids are cute.

They scaled the Faraway Tree and, erm, weird metal objects.

Miss M did a pretty convincing impression of a gnome.

And Miss E discovered the entrance to a strange other world possibly designed by Neil Gaiman and brought to life by the imagination of several small children and a gnu.

Sighhhhhhh. What a day!
Every single one of the above mentioned bevy of beauties was as nice, funny, witty, lovely, and hilarious as they seem on their blogs and on twitter, and the kids were beyond brilliant. They just seemed to gel from the start and headed off to explore with absolutely no coaxing bribing encouragement from us.
It couldn’t have been more perfect…unless of course David Tennant had turned up in his kilt bearing gifts of chocolate, mohitos and maybe a soft top VW Beetle with the number plate DT4JB I..but apart from that it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Ta for a brilliant day girlies. Let’s do it again soon, and thanks for being the best host Tara. You’re a star. xx
NB. I nearly forgot, cake was also involved. Cake. Perfect.

Ooh, you know how to make an expat blogger jealous.
Listen, Jo. Dump that lot. Save a space in your diary for me. And I’ll turn up with David Tennant.

It looks like you had such a great day. I met up with a couple of bloggers and was amazed how well we all got on. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised really.
I think I’d like a trip to the North West next!
