It’s weird the stuff kids remember isn’t it? Sometimes they truly surprise you. They see stuff you somehow miss, and remember things that enter your brain but are swiftly extinguished replaced by bigger, ‘better,’ more grown up concerns. And I wonder to myself, ‘What made that stand out for them? What was it that meant they knew when they saw it again that that was the house their friend used to live in, or the chair they sat in last time in the cinema, or the very same dog that they saw last year on holiday?
But sometimes…
Granny: ”Did you watch Britain’s Got Talent with Uncle Steve on Saturday E?”
Miss E: ”Yes. I really liked Chloe.”
Granny: ”Oh the one who sang ‘White Cliffs of Dover?’ She was lovely wasn’t she? Very sweet.”
Miss E: ”And she was only ten Granny.”
Miss M: ”Do you mean Chloe Hickinbottom E?
Miss E: ”Yes M.”
Miss M: ”Bottom.”

If I’m honest that’s what stood out for me about her too! She was a good singer though!

She was very sweet, but her name did make Miss M giggle. A lot.
