I’m driving Misses E and M, and my nieces aged 3 and 6 to school. We’re stopped at traffic lights beside a row of shops when Miss M decides to share her developing reading skills with us…
Miss M: “b, i, g, b, a, p, s. Big Baps Mummy.”
I stifle a snort.
Me: “Yes that’s a cob shop M.”

We edge a little further down the road and my niece joins in;
Cousin ME: “P, r, i, v, a, t, e. Priv, priv priiiivate.”
Me: “Well done babe.”

And I’m hoping and praying for the lights to turn green so we can move off before my 9-year-old shouts out ‘What’s a Private Shop Mummy?’
P.S Thanks so much for all the lovely comments and emails. I’m still very up and down but there’s a lot happening right now so I get why it’s happening. I’m off to France with my family next week courtesy of Key Camps so am hoping to catch up with myself.
In the mean time, baby R’s op has been moved to Monday or possibly Tuesday so please keep them all in your thoughts. My fab friend Nic is moving house tomorrow so please keep us in your thoughts as I am her voluntary slave for the day, and my toilet is still blocked so please pray for erm, a shifting of the ‘thing’, whatever it may be.
Oh and don’t forget to grab yourself some tickets for Hadrian’s Raffle (see sticky post), and remember, if you blog about it you get some for free so please help us to spread the word.
