Joining The Leisure Society – Happy

Blog

As the nights are drawing in and scarves and gloves are inching their way to the front of the scarves and gloves drawer, sometimes life can seem a little darker and colder too, but not for long if you follow my ‘get happy quick or I’ll beat you with a large marrow’ recipe.

Having seen quite a few live bands this summer at a couple of festivals I’ve found myself listening to some very chilled out happy stuff, and I wanted to share.

This is the Leisure Society.  They’re brilliant, gorgeous and spine tingling live, and having seen them live I bought the album immediately.  When ever I’m feeling low I know if I have a listen they’ll lift my mood. They’re brilliant musicians who write gorgeous tunes and they make me happy. Below are a couple of my favourites.

Oh and Mr Hughes, howzat for a good bit of Ukele?

Enjoy

The first one I love because it reminds me of some very special people in my life

The second one I love because it is just gorgeous.

Ack maybe I’m getting soppy in my old age.  ;D

This is so cool. “This is a song about love.” Ahhhh….Very nice.

I stopped in tonight to tell you that your peace globe from 2008 is being featured on Mimi Writes tomorrow. I hope you will join us November 4th for another BlogBlast For Peace. You said you wanted a “big peace” and would eat cabbage. It always made me smile.

I normally don’t bother with music clips, but I did listen to these (you seem like a lady of good judgement, so I thought I’d go where you were leading). I really liked them. Really did.
