Why does this not make me a bad person?
Well because I am trying to help the lovely people at Zapf Creations by improving a classic design in a way that would mean my kids would be interested in this Baby Born Magic Feeding Girl Doll.
Why?
Well, Miss E is 10 and already has several Baby Borns and Baby Annabells. And they have been wonderful and lovely and have stood the test of time, but are now in the wardrobe, because, while no longer played with they are still kind of loved. Even the one with blue felt tip nail varnish and a scribbly tattoo on its bottom.
But Miss M… Miss M is not really a baby-doll person. As a toddler she was often seen with a tiny doll sized push chair, but in the tiny doll sized push chair there was generally a pair of shoes or a couple of crayons.
I know, weird!
At the tender age of three she was presented with a baby Annabell that turned its head and looked at you.
It made her cry and is still not allowed in her bedroom overnight.
So, as lovely as this toy is, and believe me it is lovely, it is not for Miss E or Miss M.
But
If it had a beard, flared trousers, a sweet yet knowing grin, and a microphone, then there is a chance it would find love at Chez Beaufoix. And if it sang, say, the soundtrack to Mama Mia, I have no doubt my girls would battle over it and I would probably have to purchase another to prevent injury.
Which is why I am presenting BABY BJORN to the fabulous people at ToysRUs. Because this toy deserved a better review, but I cannot tell a lie, my kids were more interested in the Barbie Tattoo Centre (Bit pricey but actually quite cool and the sort of prezzie Santa might give as a joint gift at £24.99).
Baby Born a younger Miss E would have loved and cherished, as would any normal kid into baby-dolls. but BABY BJORN, with an ipod attachment and Abba Sing-Along-Lyrics, would reign supreme in my house.
I know, it’s a worry.
I still don’t think Miss M would let it sleep in her room though.
NB. If you’re shopping at ToysRUs this Christmas check out the Toyologist facebook page. It’s like a try before you buy thing, and there’s also info’ on competitions and special offers.

I bet they could. I’d buy one to sing along with the girls in the car.
