We’re not here.
We’re actually in the beautiful Baie de Somme courtesy of Canvas holidays who having sponsored me for CyberMummy also asked us to review one of their holidays. Well it would have been rude to say no right?
The sun has been mostly shining and we have been mostly relaxing, drinking inexpensive wine and eating bread, cheese, huge beef tomatoes and wonky cucumbers that seem to taste so much better for their lack of uniformity.
Misses E and M run loose limbed and laughing through the trees playing chase and Hide and Seek with a gaggle of sun-blushed youngsters who have taken them under their wings.
Granny and Grandad watch them, smiling and trying hard not to tug on the leash I have loosened as it seems safe, I trust them, and we can hear them anytime we can’t see them.
This is why I love outdoor holidays. A tent, a caravan, a chalet, anything surrounded by grass, space, open air. Where you can eat breakfast outside and share it with a trio of wood pigeons or a battle-scarred cat that roams the site hoping for titbits. Where light is patterned by the branches it plays through and children play till it’s dark and they’re ready to fall into bed, body tired, limbs stretched and worked and healthy.
I would recommend this to anyone, but especially to anyone with kids. It’s a place to build friendships and memories. I know my two have.
P.S I wrote this last week but couldn’t post. We’re home now, but that relaxed haziness of thought still lingers. Thank you Canvas.

I love Canvas Holidays, we have been to France with them the last two summers and have had a great time with the kids. We have had a break this summer but we will definitely be going to France again with them next year.

Oooh that sounds blissful! I love outdoor holidays too and recently totted up that I’ve spent nearly a whole month in all sleeping in a tent this year so far!
