Shoe shopping for the kids.
We all know the drill right?
You drag them into Clarks, grab a ticket, peruse the shoes while you wait 10, 20, 30, 40, 50…minutes. And as soon as you sit down it begins;
Put that down
Put your sister down
Stop that
No
NO
SIT DOWN
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
(And Mummy runs screaming from the shop)
But all that is in the past, you see, Clarks have started their fabulous ‘Kids shoes without the queues‘ service. So you can shop when you want by booking an appointment with one of their fitting team at a time that’s good for you. Sounds far too easy right? But wait there’s more. You can also pick the shoes your little ones like online and order them to be delivered to the store of your choice so that the right styles and sizes are there when you arrive. How cool is that?
Answer – Very cool.
So we tried it out.
4.27pm We arrived in store and M checked out the shoes she had seen online.

Appointment time: 4.30pm Beth introduced herself and popped Miss M on the magic measuring machiney thing

4.33pm Miss M showed lovely Beth the shoes she hoped to get her sticky little mitts on.

4.38pm Miss M tried her favourites on and Beth checked them, smoothed them, tugged them and watched M walk (well skip actually) across the room and back.

4.45pm We paid, thanked Beth and left the store with a very smiley Miss M, an equally calm and happy Miss E and Mummy,

..and a very cute, very comfy pair of shoes that have apparently been through 50 tests to make sure they are fit for playground punishment.
It was so easy. In and out in 20 minutes. Woo hoooooo.
Clarks, we loved it and will definitely be using this service again. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to try it.

The opinions are all my own.

We need that here!
Only, Gilda likes to argue with me about shoes, particularly gym shoes. It’s maddening!!

Syb they’re pretty much THE shoe shop for kids in the UK. The appointment system is so much better. We loved it.

What a brilliant idea – I dread taking the kids for shoes especially as we usually have to take 3 at once!
I like the idea of viewing the shoes online & ordering them into the store but surely that assumes knowing what size your child will be.
When we went at the end of the holidays I noticed the serving staff no longer disappear into the shoe storage area to search out shoes – instead they had heatsets on & radioed through what they required – this definitely speeded up the service time.

Wow, we completely need this over here! Shoe shopping is crazy and it’s practically impossible for some people (me!!) … this looks so convenient. I wish we had this here…

Appointment for a shoe purchase!!! That’s a really wonderful idea. Especially when you want to go shoe shopping with kids.

I always loved shoe shopping as a kid y’know (still do!), and getting my feet measure was a definite highlight! Why don’t they do those machines for adults?
