Hmm… best Christmas… that would have to be 2001 – Gilda was born 17 days before, she was a perfect angel at Christmas, and I got out of doing a whole lot because I had a newborn. Haha!

Awww that’s what I’m after. Happy stuff. Christmas 2005 I was eight and a half months pregnasnt with Miss M. I loved that Christmas. All the presents were unwrappped and we still had a wonderful one to come.

Ooooh what fab prizes! My favourite ever Christmas present was a pair of LK Bennetts that my brother bought for me…god bless him!! I think my favourite Christmas ever was last year when we went to Australia for my best friends wedding
xx
December 10th, 2011 at 2:21 pm
I had to ask my friend what LK Bennetts are. Is that bad? And wow, Christmas in Australia, amazing.

Hm…
My first married Christmas was good. We married in January, so it was nearly a year on. We decided to dodge the “your parents or mine” question, and headed off to Iona, off the west coast of Scotland. I loved the long train journey from London, the remoteness of it all. We stayed in the Abbey, and it was absolutely freezing cold, but wonderful. I was 4 months pregnant, and felt the baby move on Boxing Day morning, lying in bed. I told my husband, he put his hand on my bump, and very obligingly, the baby kicked again, just then, so husband felt him too.
I’m getting all nostalgic just thinking about it.

The good ones stay with us don’t they.
November 26th, 2011 at 12:19 am
How come whenever I pop onto your blog for a catch-up it coincides with a comp? Lol! Have to say I think the best Christmas ever is always the next one – the anticipation, the planning, the buying and making, the smells, carols, crisp cold air and market stalls with extra special goodies, the lights, the decorations and the inevitable family bickering – it always seems so much more exciting beforehand than on the actual day! Will tweet for you lovely. x

Thanks sweetie. I love that description. I could almost taste it.

Fab prizes Jo! I would have to go for a family Christmas when I was little – I think it was 1982 – me and my sister got a Cindy house and loads of furniture between us and my brother got a scaletrix type thing. We covered the living room floor with all our kit. It was wonderful! xx
November 26th, 2011 at 9:47 pm
Oh that sounds fab. It reminds me of the Christmas my brothers both got BMX bikes, my sister got cool roller skates and I got a Barbie Mobile home. The garage had been locked for days and Mum and Dad pretended they’d lost the keys so we couldn’t get at their stash.
November 28th, 2011 at 10:45 pm
Those were the days! xx

On Christmas eve 1990 I’d been 18 for nearly six weeks. At 11.55pm I gave birth to my son. What followed was / is an amazing journey that has taken me to the brink of death and back again.
Despite everything, holding my beautiful, perfect baby boy that I’d fought so hard to keep against the wishes of all of my family and friends – was the best thing ever.
December 10th, 2011 at 2:24 pm
Oh hon that’s lovely and sad and wonderful. What a journey you started so young. Hugs.

My best Christmas present…
Ive always loved the stockings my mum used to make stuffed with beauty bits, funny fillers, chocolate coins and ofcourse a satsuma! Last year watching my little boys unwrap they’re stockings and their excitement for christmas was just the sweetest Christmas moment I’ve ever experienced! can’t wait for this year!
December 10th, 2011 at 2:26 pm
Awwww I love doing my kids’ stockings. Believe or not my Mum still does stockings for us now!! I do one for her too though so my girls get 2 stockings and I get one too. Result.

My favourite Christmas was actually last years Christmas. It was probably one of the first grown up Christmases that I had which was really lovely and relaxing. Our family is all grown up but me and my sister haven’t yet obliged our parents with grandchildren! Everyone helped out and there were no tantrums and desperate need to get up at 6am to open pressies. So with a few drinks and lovely company it was really lovely. My parents I’m sure will be wanting a grandchild to spoil next year though!
December 10th, 2011 at 2:28 pm
Awww that’s lovely. The grandkids will come when you’re ready, but sounds like you have a fab Christmas anyway so no rush.

November 28th, 2011 at 10:25 pm
My best ever Christmas was last Christmas as it was my gorgeous boy’s first Christmas. Seeing him spending time with our families and watching the joy that everyone received from him being there was amazing. I’m so looking forward to this Christmas as he is much more aware now and, at 20 months, will enjoy it even more than he did last year.
December 10th, 2011 at 2:48 pm
Ahhh that’s lovely. It’s my nephew’s first Christmas this year and my other nephew will be 13 month so it’s going to be a cute one for us. All 6 cousins will be together for the first Christmas this year so it will be fab.

My favourite christmas….. Mmmm anything
That involved my grandad when we little
was always fun…we used to wait in anticipation for him to arrive
With his present, every year the box would get bigger
He used to wrap a present up ina box
inside a box , inside another box, it took us hours to un do it!
One Christmas after much paper tearing and box
un doing you can see the reaction on our faces when we un wrapped
a turnip …always the practical joker my grandad!
( just to add he did have a little box each for us hid inside his coat!)
December 10th, 2011 at 2:49 pm
Oh he sounds like a fab Grandad. Lovely. x
November 30th, 2011 at 10:23 pm
I had many great Christmas’s when I was little, my mum work really hard to make to special for me and my sister. This year my own children are at an age to appreciate Christmas for the first time and I am really enjoying planning how to make it as special for them as my mum made it for me. I can’t wait to see their faces on Christmas day – think this one might be my best Christmas yet!
December 10th, 2011 at 2:50 pm
Oh that’s lovely. I hope you have a wonderful time.

I think it was the one in 2007, I was on-call for work so couldn’t go home to my parents. My best friend took me in and when it came to pressie time she had gone all out and bought me a necklace from Tiffany’s!! To say I was shocked was an understatement! I still treasure it to this day. The one after Miss P was born was very special but having had an emergency c-sec 12 days before I wasn’t really up to much!
December 10th, 2011 at 2:52 pm
Oh bless you. What a fab friend, and yep, post-op Christmases are probably not the best but having baby P must have helped ease the sore bits.
December 7th, 2011 at 12:38 pm
Oh wow Jo you have had a year, sorry to hear about the burglary.
x
I think my best Christmas would have to be 1994 the year that baby one was born…it was just so different and magical and as exciting for me as it was when I was a child…I can’t believe that was 17 years ago now. X
December 10th, 2011 at 2:53 pm
Ahhhh 17 years, mad, you don’t look old enough. Having kids does bring the magic back doesn’t it? Hope this year’s is a fab one too. x
December 8th, 2011 at 7:19 pm
I’m hoping that this Christmas will be our best yet. Big E is the perfect age for believing in Santa, and Little E is aware too now! Can’t wait to see their faces on Christmas morning! I’m soooo filming it this year!
It all seemed so empty before we had the kids, and now, even though money is tight, I look forward to it again!
xxx
December 10th, 2011 at 2:57 pm
Awww bless, I bet they’ll love it. M is at a fab age for Christmas and is getting so giddy. E is quietly excited about it all in a mature 11 year old way, tee hee.

My favourite christmas ever was in 2006 and I’ll never top it!
My first daughter , Keira was born on Christmas Eve 2006 and was taken to special care because of an infection and was tube fed for the first 24 hours. Christmas day was the first time I got to hold Keira and it was the single most amazing feeling ever!
I’m really looking forward to this christmas too , as I’ve just had my second child and Keira will be turning 5 too!!!

My best Christmas was in 2007 I had just married and was pregnant for the first time, my Christmas present to my folks was to tell them they were going to be grandparents. I now have two lovely little girls. Happy time. I hope you and your girls have a great Christmas. x
December 11th, 2011 at 9:46 am
The best christmas had to be last year when my little boy was 3 – he was just so excited it reminded me so much of how much I loved Christmas when I was a kid. High hopes for this year as he has been even more excited in the run up and my little girl will be 6 months so looking forward to spending the day with the two of them and all my family.
