Christmas has arrived. The tree is up, the lights are aglow and the Christmas movie watching has begun.
E and M have both been off poorly today so we have cuddled up and watched Matilda, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and Annie.
It feels too early for Polar Express but we might do Arthur Christmas next week cos it’s allowed when you get into the December ‘teens’. I know that because an elf told me.
Our third Christmas as a separated family and myself and my girls have a few of our own little traditions, including each picking a new tree ornament to add to our collection. This year has seen two fabric birds

and a very glittery angel

making their way to Chez Beaufoix. (Schmesco, 3 for 2, cos we is classy.
)
This will also be my first Christmas as a single woman in 18 years which feels a bit strange, but I’m filling my diary with lovely plans with friends and family, and my thoughts with smiling faces on Christmas morning.
I’m hoping 2012 holds some big changes for me. Years seem to go by so fast sometimes don’t they? 2011 has been interesting, but frankly I’m ready for a bit of 2012.
How about you?

Why Ms Bo, what a pretty living-room you have!
You know in my head you’re kinda like the Gilmour girls now, right? I envy you your lovely girliness. Mind you William loves a bit of glitter with the rest of ‘em, and he insisted on making a pink cake for his friend Molly the other week, so….
2011 was OK. I kinda preferred 2010 to be honest. And 2012 will be the year I finally reach 8st, yes yes?

8 stone, no no no, too tiny small lady. I preferred 2010 too, but I reckon 2012 could be good. I’m thinking a trip to Scotland might be good…then I can come and have a cuppa with you my sweet, and watch E, M and William make glittery things together.
And we are the Gilmore girls, tee hee.

We’ve already watched Polar Exress. We start on the 1st of December. I think we’re going to see Arthur Christmas this weekend. My son is a real film addict and he’s got five films he he wants to go to the Cinema to see this Christmas.
Love your Christmas tree. It’s my first Christmas seperated from my husband but thankfully I have my wonderful family to celebrate with.
Happy Christmas

Hugs Wendy. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. The first one is weird but can be lovely. Get plenty of cuddles and plan lots of nice things. Take care.

Thanks for sharing this
I am a single mom too trying to adjust to life on my own with my two boys. It’s always hardest around Christmas and New Years, but it’s slowly becoming better.
I love the ornaments too by the way

Hi Cindi, it does get better doesn’t it? My divorce will be through on January 4th which might feel strange, but Mr B and I have been apart for almost 3 years now and both have had a new relationship since (though mine has now ended), so I think it will be fine.
Here’s to 2012 for all the single ladies.
